Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Unsheathing a weapon faster than the eye can follow, a follower of the Way of the Stormwalker does not merely wield steel--they become the conduit for a storm. Originating from an ancient monastic order's traditions and secluded mountain battlemasters, this martial style teaches combatants to harmonize their resolve with the elemental electricity that permeates the atmosphere.

Where traditional samurai rely on disciplined poise and unwavering focus, a Lightning Samurai blends that precision with violent, tempestuous power. They glide across the battlefield as effortlessly as arc lightning bouncing between targets, blinding opponents with brilliant flashes of light and delivering devastating strikes coated in voltage.

To face a Stormwalker is to hear distant thunder--a warning that the strike has already landed before you ever saw the blade leave its sheath.

Spark Sheath

You learn to channel electricity through your weapon strikes and harness the momentum for explosive speed.

  • Thunderous Strike: Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can deal an extra 1d6 Lightning damage to the target. This extra damage increases to 1d8 at 10th level and 1d10 at 18th level.
  • Flash Step: Whenever you use your Action Surge or Second Wind, your movement speed increases by 10 feet until the end of your turn, and your movement does not provoke opportunity attacks for the rest of that turn.

Lightning Spirit

Starting at 3rd level, your intensity in battle can shield you and help you strike true. As a bonus action on your turn, you can give yourself advantage on weapon attack rolls until the end of the current turn. When you do so, you also gain 5 temporary hit points. The number of temporary hit points increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 10 at 10th level and 15 at 15th level.

You can use this feature three times, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a short rest.

Raijin's Stance

Your body adapts to the violent pressure of the atmospheric current. You gain resistance to Lightning and Thunder damage.

Additionally, you gain proficiency in Acrobatics or Persuasion (your choice). If you are already proficient in the chosen skill, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make using it.

Acrobatics Proficiency

Gain proficiency (or Expertise) in Acrobatics.

Persuasion Proficiency

Gain proficiency (or Expertise) in Persuasion.

Arc Flash

When you use your Lightning Spirit feature, a ring of electrical current bursts outward. Up to two creatures of your choice that you can see within 15 feet of you take Lightning damage equal to your Strength or Dexterity modifier.

Relentless Tempest

Starting at 15th level, the storm inside you refuses to be snuffed out. If you roll initiative and have no uses of Lightning Spirit remaining, you regain 1 use.

Rapid Strike

Starting at 18th level, you learn to trade accuracy for swiftness. If you take the Attack action on your turn and have advantage on an attack roll against one of the targets, you can forgo the advantage for that roll to make an additional weapon attack against that target as part of the same action.

You can do this only once per turn.
