Spin Small Magics into a Killing Web

Once she was Araushnee, consort of Corellon Larethian and weaver of elven destiny. His mercy made her a demon and cast her into the Abyss, where she spun a throne of webs and stolen souls in the Demonweb Pits and waited for the children of the Seldarine to come crawling. Now the Elf-father is dead, the stars of Arvandor have gone dark, and the orphans are crawling.

Lolth does not hand her chosen great spells. She gives them threads: a thousand small cruelties, each meaningless alone and lethal together. Warlocks of the Spider Queen turn the humblest cantrip, Eldritch Blast above all, into a strand of her web. Each crackle of eldritch power carries her venom into the flesh or her whispers into the mind, and every strand pulls tighter.

Her favor is fickle. She loves ambition more than loyalty and treachery more than prayer, and she rewards her chosen only while they keep feeding her web.

Venom or Whisper. Lolth wears two faces. Poison is the Spider Queen's: her toxic webs, the venom of her spiders, and the poisoned daggers of drow ascension. Psychic is the Weaver's and the Lady of Chaos's: the goddess of destiny who knots fates, and the Mistress of Lies whose will frays minds. Whenever this subclass deals extra damage, you choose Poison or Psychic.

Spider Queen Spells

The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready. When you reach a Warlock level specified in the Spider Queen Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Warlock Level Spells
3 Dissonant Whispers, Poison Spray, Ray of Sickness, Spider Climb, Vicious Mockery, Web
5 Bestow Curse, Stinking Cloud
7 Giant Insect, Phantasmal Killer
9 Dominate Person, Insect Plague

Spider's Kiss

Every cantrip you cast carries a drop of the Spider Queen's venom or a whisper of her madness. When a creature takes damage from a Warlock cantrip you cast, it takes an extra 1d4 Poison or Psychic damage (your choice). If a cantrip deals damage through multiple attacks or rays, such as each beam of Eldritch Blast, each one that hits applies this extra damage separately.

Many-Legged Malice. If a Warlock cantrip damages a creature with only a single attack roll or saving throw, such as Poison Spray or Vicious Mockery, the Spider's Kiss damage it deals to that creature is instead rolled once for each beam your Eldritch Blast would create at your level: one roll at levels 1–4, two at levels 5–10, three at levels 11–16, and four at level 17 and higher.

Venom Grows. The Spider's Kiss die increases when you reach certain Warlock levels: 1d6 at level 6, 1d8 at level 10, and 1d10 at level 14.

Lolth's Favor

The Spider Queen's regard is a thread, and she can cut it whenever she likes. You have a number of Favor points equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You regain all expended Favor when you finish a Long Rest, and you regain 1 expended Favor when you use your Magical Cunning feature. Favor fuels Spider's Snare below and Araushnee's Scabbard (level 10). If you have no Favor left, you can't use an option that costs it.

Spider's Snare. When you hit a creature with an attack roll from a Warlock cantrip, you can spend 1 Favor (no action required) to bind it in Abyssal silk. The target makes a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. Huge or larger creatures have Advantage on this save. On a failed save, the target has the Restrained condition until the end of your next turn. The target or a creature within reach of it can take an action to make a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC, freeing the target on a success. You can use Spider's Snare only once per turn.

Offering to the Queen. Once per turn, when a creature that is Restrained by your Spider's Snare, or carries your Fate-Threads, is reduced to 0 Hit Points, you regain 1 expended Favor.

Child of the Demonweb. You gain Darkvision out to 60 feet, or your existing Darkvision increases by 30 feet. You gain a Climb Speed equal to your Speed. Webs aren't Difficult Terrain for you and can't Restrain you unless you allow it, and you can communicate simple ideas with Spiders.

Venom and Whispers

Your patron's two faces sharpen your small magics. You gain the following benefits:

Unblunted. The Poison and Psychic damage from your Spider's Kiss ignores Resistance.

Queen's Venom. Once per turn, when you deal Poison damage with Spider's Kiss, you can force the target to make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, it has the Poisoned condition until the end of your next turn.

Weaver's Whisper. Once per turn, when you deal Psychic damage with Spider's Kiss, the target can't take Reactions until the start of your next turn.

Venom-Blooded. You have Resistance to Poison damage.

Loom of the Weaver

Before she was the Spider Queen, Lolth was Araushnee, goddess of destiny, who wove the fates of the elves on her loom. She now shows you the threads, and how to twist them. You gain the following benefits:

Fate-Threads. Whenever a creature takes Spider's Kiss damage from you, you tie one strand of its destiny into the Weaver's web. That creature gains one Fate-Thread per beam or roll, to a maximum of 8. A creature's Fate-Threads vanish if it goes until the end of your next turn without gaining a new one. You can see any creature's Fate-Threads as faint crimson strands, and you have Advantage on Wisdom (Insight) checks against a creature carrying them.

Araushnee's Scabbard. Araushnee once cursed Corellon's scabbard so that his own daughter's arrows flew into his heart. When a creature carrying your Fate-Threads makes an attack roll against you, you can take a Reaction and spend 1 Favor to twist its fate: the attack instead targets another creature of your choice within 5 feet of you or of the attacker (not the attacker itself), using the same roll against that creature's AC. If the attack misses its new target, it misses entirely.

Blood of the Abyss. You have Immunity to Poison damage and the Poisoned condition.

Yor'thae, Vessel of the Weaver

Lolth has called mortals to become her Yor'thae before, her Chosen, a vessel for her voice and will, so that the Weaver of Destiny could step back into the world and pull its threads with mortal hands. Now she calls you. Corellon Larethian is dead, and a child of the Seldarine has crawled to her web. As a Bonus Action, you can open yourself to her for 1 minute. Eight crimson eyes kindle in a ring above your head, like the eight red stars of the Demonweb Pits. The effect ends early if you have the Incapacitated condition or you dismiss it (no action required). While it lasts, you gain the following benefits:

The Queen's Regard. When you invoke this feature, you gain Temporary Hit Points equal to your Warlock level plus your Charisma modifier, and you have Immunity to the Charmed and Frightened conditions.

Venom of the Chosen. Each time you deal Spider's Kiss damage, roll two Spider's Kiss dice instead of one.

Unravel Destiny. Once on each turn, when a creature you can see carrying at least 2 of your Fate-Threads makes an attack roll or a saving throw, you can remove 2 of its Fate-Threads (no action required), roll 1d10, and subtract the number rolled from its d20 roll. You can do this after seeing the roll but before any of its effects occur.

The Web Passes On. When a creature carrying your Fate-Threads is reduced to 0 Hit Points, you can move all of its Fate-Threads to another creature you can see within 30 feet of it, to a maximum of 8.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a Long Rest unless you expend a Pact Magic spell slot (no action required) to restore your use of it.
