Base Class: Sorcerer
Some sorcerers inherit their magic from a powerful bloodline, an otherworldly influence, or an extraordinary event. Others find their lives forever changed by a terrible curse. Whether inflicted by a vengeful hag, a spiteful deity, a powerful fiend, or an ancient ritual, these curses were never meant to be gifts. Yet, through some twist of fate, their victims discover that the affliction has awakened something extraordinary within them.
Sorcerers born of such misfortune are known as Curseborn. Rather than seeking to break their curses, they learn to embrace and manipulate them, turning their afflictions into potent sources of magic. They might spread their misfortune to their enemies, twist the laws of fate, or unleash the destructive power that festers within their cursed bodies. Though their magic may come at a terrible price, Curseborn sorcerers prove that even the cruelest of curses can become a formidable weapon.
Level 1: Curseborn Spells
You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Curseborn Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
Curseborn Spells
| Sorcerer Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | Hex, Inflict Wounds |
| 3rd | Blindness/Deafness, Ray of Enfeeblement |
| 5th | Bestow Curse, Remove Curse |

Level 1: Arcane Curse
You can cast Hex a number of times without a spell slot equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all expended uses upon a Long Rest. When you cast the spell Hex, your concentration on the spell cannot be broken by taking damage.
Level 6: Accursed Wounds
When you cast a spell that deals Necrotic or Psychic damage, the damage ignores Resistance.
Level 14: Erupting Curse
As an action on your turn, you can end the effects of the spell Hex early on its target in order to force it to attempt a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or take 8d6 Necrotic damage, or half as much damage on a successful save.
You can do this once, regaining usage of this ability upon completing a Long Rest.
Level 18: Hex of Vile Darkness
As an action, you can cast Bestow Curse as a 9th level spell without a spell slot. You can do this once, regaining usage of this ability upon completing a Long Rest.
