Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Some Sorcerers possess an innate connection to the creatures that dwell within their souls. Rather than manifesting their magic through conventional spells alone, these Sorcerers give form to fragments of their own essence, creating supernatural beasts that embody different aspects of their personalities, emotions, and innate magical power. These soulbeasts can take many forms, from familiar companions and loyal guardians to ferocious predators and otherworldly monstrosities.

Level 3: Soulbeast Spells

When you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Soulbeast Spells table, you add the listed spells to the Sorcerer spell list, allowing you to learn those spells as if they were Sorcerer spells. Whenever you reach one of these levels, you can replace any spells you know with spells you have access to from this table.

Soulbeast Spells
Sorcerer Level Spells
3 Find Familiar, Unseen Servant, Battle Familiar, Summon Beast
5 Summon Fey, Summon Undead
7 Summon Aberration, Summon Construct, Summon Elemental
9 Summon Celestial, Summon Dragon, Summon Plant
11 Summon Dinosaur, Summon Fiend

Level 3: Soulbeast Manifestation

You gain a Soulbeast, a specialized creature that aids you in battle. The Soulbeast uses the statistics of the Battle Familiar from the Battle Familiar spell. Your Soulbeast counts as having cast Battle Familiar using the highest-level spell slot available to you according to the Sorcerer class table, for the purpose of determining its statistics.

Your Soulbeast can be any creature type other than Humanoid, which you choose when you gain this feature. Once chosen, this creature type cannot be changed. When you gain this feature, choose one of the Battle Familiar options for your Soulbeast's statistics: Brute, Flyer, or Stalker. Whenever you finish a Short or Long Rest, you can change your choice.

Your Soulbeast acts directly after your turn in combat, taking the Dodge action unless you command it to take another action as an action or Bonus Action on your turn. You can command it to move or take Bonus Actions or Reactions without using an action.

If your Soulbeast dies, you can revive it as a Bonus Action by expending a spell slot of any level or 1 Sorcery Point. It reappears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you with all its Hit Points. Whenever you finish a Short or Long Rest, your Soulbeast regains all its Hit Points.

Your Soulbeast doesn't count as a familiar for the purpose of summoning or using another familiar with the Battle Familiar spell.

Level 3: Lesser Soulbeast

You can cast Find Familiar without expending a spell slot or providing material components. When you cast the spell using this feature, the familiar can take the form of any creature with a Challenge Rating of 0, regardless of its creature type.

A familiar summoned using this feature can't make attacks, even if another feature or ability would normally allow it to do so.

Level 6: Enhanced Soulbeast

Choose one of the following damage types: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Necrotic, Poison, Psychic, Radiant, or Thunder. Your Soulbeast gains Resistance to the chosen damage type, and whenever it hits with an attack, it can change the damage type of that attack to the chosen type. You can change this damage type whenever you finish a Long Rest.

In addition, your Soulbeast can take any action other than the Attack action without requiring you to use an action to command it.

Level 14: Focused Summoning

You can maintain concentration on two spells simultaneously, provided that at least one of the spells is one of the following: Summon Beast, Summon Fey, Summon Undead, Summon Aberration, Summon Construct, Summon Elemental, Summon Celestial, Summon Dragon, Summon Plant, Summon Dinosaur, or Summon Fiend.

Level 18: Incarnate Soulbeast

Once per Long Rest, you can transform your Soulbeast into a more powerful manifestation of your soul. Choose one of the following spells: Summon Beast, Summon Fey, Summon Undead, Summon Aberration, Summon Construct, Summon Elemental, Summon Celestial, Summon Dragon, Summon Plant, Summon Dinosaur, or Summon Fiend. Your Soulbeast's statistics are replaced by the statistics of the creature summoned by the chosen spell, as if the spell had been cast using a 9th-level spell slot. This transformation lasts for 10 minutes, until your Soulbeast dies, or until you dismiss the transformation (no action required), whichever occurs first.

Your Soulbeast retains its creature type, current Hit Points, and damage Resistances while transformed, but otherwise uses the chosen creature's statistics.
