Shadow Dragon Patron

 

As a young warlock, you were intrigued with the idea of interaction with beings beyond the world you lived in, so you went searching for the most intrusive and unique patron you could find. You spent your free time researching this topic as a hobby and finally decided to attempt to make a connection with this patron you wished to speak with. Without any real knowledge on how to find this patron, you find the most basic way you could make a connection with one. But something had gone wrong with your ritual. Maybe you found a book and the description of the required items was vague and you didn't find the right ones, or maybe you were dared to do it by a group of friends, or you were thinking of more than one patron at once and found it difficult to concentrate, or even a situation where you prayed to some unclear god with the correct items within range to connect with that patron.

For whatever reason, your ritual explodes in your face and you find yourself unconscious. With an unknown amount of time passing, you wake up to the noise of static shock in the air, opening your eyes just in time to see a black egg land inches away from you, an egg already hatching. The egg cracks on one side, revealing a small black tail, and a small distinct cry of a creature. The egg breaks completely, revealing a small Black dragon, with tiny wings and a unique neon colored eyes matching the player. You hear the creature speak asking what happened and who they were. You and them only know that a ritual had failed, and they were both in the room. You and the dragon both cant remember their name. You both find yourself bonded together, whether the pairing likes it or not. With that done, you both begin your adventures, which you will both soon learn that it will be a great bonding experience.

Shadow dragon bond

At LV 1, you and your shadow dragon have this telepathic connection that allows them to communicate within 25 feet (Increases by 25 ft at lv 5,11, and 17) The warlock also learns draconic if not already knowing it

This connection is permanent, allowing both of you to feel what emotions the other is experiencing, but you require to use concentration to talk to him/her. Once per short rest, you can also see through the dragons eyes if their was distance between you two or if you have no dark-vision while the dragon does for as long as you don't lose concentration.

Rapid growth of the dragon

At lv 6, your pseudo dragon grows and replaces its previous stats with the stats of a black dragon wyrmling, still retaining the shadow ability. (Shadow Stealth, Living Shadow, Sunlight sensitivity)

 

Shadow dragon spells

At lv 10, your patron remembers bits of its past existence in the otherworldly plane and gifts you with special abilities such as darkvision 60ft, shadow walk spell, shadow gauntlet spell, and shadow shield spell. You may use each spell once per long rest

Drakvision 60ft

You can now see in the dark up to 60 ft away from you (Add 60 ft if you can already have darkvision

Shadow dragon rider

At lv 14, your patron grows to a young shadow dragon (Using the stats of a young black dragon with shadow abilities) You are able to ride your shadow dragon and a small ally. At lv 18, change it into a young red shadow dragon and you also can have access to the spell Sacrificial poly morph fusion
