Bard
Base Class: Bard

A kindly old grandmother sits in a rocking chair on the porch of a tavern as afternoon fades into evening. Her grandchildren, none of whom are older than six years old sit in the front row around her, and a small crowd has gathered behind them to listen. As she sits in the orange glow of the sunset, rocking back and forth in her chair, she tells the onlookers her stories: all the places she's been, all the things that she's seen, and all the great stories of herself and those who traveled with her, before finishing with an old folk song that has everyone joining in. This is the storyteller.

Bonus Proficiencies

You gain proficiency with the history skill. You also gain proficiency with an herbalism kit and cooking utensils.

Kindly Healer

When you cast a spell that restores hit points and requires a die roll, you can expend a use of your bardic inspiration and add the roll to your total.

Doomed to Repeat It

When a hostile creature within 60 ft. of you misses another creature with an attack roll, or when an ally within 60 ft. of you hits another creature with an attack roll, you can use your reaction to mark that creature, altering its next roll against the same creature. If you targeted an ally, it gains advantage on the roll and if you targeted an enemy, you impose disadvantage on the roll. Once you have used this ability a number of times equal to your charisma modifier, you must take a long rest before you can use it again.

Ancient Historian

When damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to make a DC 10 intelligence (history) check as you scramble to think of some part of history that no one else knows about. On a success, you regain hit points equal to half your level and the DC for the check is permanently increased by 1. Once you succeed on this check, you cannot use this ability again until you share this lore with at least one other person and finish a long rest.
