Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

For some barbarians, rage is a means to an end—that end being violence. Although some are able to conjure immense strength from their own willpower, oftentimes they need help to cause bloodshed most effectively. For those who find cursed artifacts, they can access such power. The Path of the Cursed is a path filled with power for a price, shady deals, and most importantly, incredible strength. When you strike, you can choose to exchange your blood for your enemies' blood.

Blood for Blood

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can communicate with your cursed artifact, asking for power. Whenever you perform a Reckless Attack, you can choose to spend hit points up to twice your level in exchange for the same amount of damage on your next strike (I.E. spend 2 HP, deal +2 damage).

Anti-Magic Blade

Beginning at 6th level, you learn to use your curse to corrupt magic. When you perform a Reckless Attack, you can choose to permanently dispel all magic currently on the target of your attack (Such as removing mage armor from a wizard or removing the +1 from a Dagger, +1), in exchange for health points equal to each spells' spell level times 2, squared.

If you choose to attack an enchanted weapon or item, treat common rarity items as a 1st level spell, and add 2 to the theoretical spell level for each rarity above common. You may not dispel artifacts. Additionally, if you would drop to 0 hit points or fewer because of Anti-Magic Blade, you may make an additional attack. If you would die because of Anti-Magic Blade, you may use this feature to its fullest extent.

Level Cost
1st/Cantrip (Common) 4 HP
2nd 16 HP
3rd (Uncommon) 36 HP
4th 64 HP
5th (Rare) 100 HP
6th 144 HP
7th (Very Rare) 196 HP
8th 256 HP
9th (Legendary) 324 HP

Soul Sliver

Beginning at 10th level, your curse begins to draw in the life force of others. When you kill a creature with the ability to cast spells, you gain the ability to cast one spell they knew of the DM's choosing once. Use Strength as your spellcasting modifier.

If you take a long or short rest without casting the spell, you are no longer able to cast it.

Additionally, if you would die from one of this subclass's features, and you are not undead or a construct, resurrect after one minute. Your type becomes Undead, and you no longer require food, water, air, or sleep. Instead, you gain a new statistic labeled "Blood". Every day, you consume an amount of blood equal to your class level to survive. Whenever you deal damage to a creature with blood in its body, gain Blood equal to half the damage you deal to it. Using this subclass's features now consume Blood instead of hit points. You can hold a maximum amount of Blood equal to your class level times 10, times your Constitution modifier.

Overwhelming Curse

Starting at 14th level, your cursed item grows dependant on you, granting you its full power in exchange for its heaviest price. You must wear or wield your cursed item at all times, and not doing so will grant you 1 level of exhaustion per day without having it equipped, which can only be removed by taking a long rest with the cursed item in your possession. However, you no longer have a limit on Blood for Blood's damage, and you no longer need to perform a Reckless Attack to utilize it.

Additionally, you can choose to use Blood as it is described, even if you are not undead. You cannot choose to not use Blood if you are undead. If you decide to use Blood, or if you are forced to use Blood, add 2 to your Dexterity, Strength, and Constitution scores, unless it would cause them to go above 20. If you later choose to not to use Blood, you lose these bonuses and cannot use Blood again for 1 month, or until you become undead. Additionally, you cannot be healed using magic, and instead must heal using Blood. After 1 minute of focusing, you can choose to spend as much Blood as you wish in order to heal for half that amount as hit points.
