Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

An elf stands atop a hill surveying the destruction of the battle field, her falling tears and haunting song whirling into a tempest around her. The angry howl of a tiefling shouts down the dungeon, as a crate propelled by magic smashes to pieces against the far wall. A halfling roars with laughter that shakes him to his core and the whole room is alight with mirrored smiles.

This world swings from cruel and terrifying to joyous and radiant in a heartbeat. Some folks are more attuned to this sensing world, feeling evey emotion bubble up inside them and pour fourth. Only a fool would think to call an Empath Warrior sensitive as an insult.

Empath Warriors, although uncommon, are found in communities across the land. They often hold informal positions of leadership – spiritual parents of the townsfolk or tribe – or instead seek to shy away from the turbulent emotions that rage across the world and become sheltered recluses. Most are born with an innate sense of oneness with the folk around them. An Empath Warrior has to strive to control the emotions they feel on a daily basis, some becoming stoic and silent and others bawling or cackling at a moments notice. You gain the following features at each sorcerer level.

Calming Presence

Starting at 1st level, you are well attuned to the emotions  of those around you. You learn the spell Calm Emotions  and it does not count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. You can use your Calming Presence as an action to cast Calm Emotions using a first level spell slot. Once you have used your Calming Presence, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.

Waves of Emotion

At 1st level, you gain the ability to tap into raw emotional energy. Select one emotion from the list below as a Favoured Emotion. At 1st and 5th level, you learn the spells associated with your choice as shown in the table. These spells count as sorcerer spells for you, but they do not count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. At the DMs discretion, you can change your Favoured Emotion when you increase a level.

Sorrow: Immidiately after using any of your Favoured Emotion spells you can use your own tears to summon a cloud of mist centered on yourself in a 5ft radius, which last 1 minute or can be dismissed as a bonus action. Any creature starting its turn in this radius must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or fall prone, wracked with a mutual sorrow.

Mirth: your 1st Level Favoured Emotion spells have a powerful magnetism, and can now target 1 extra creature of your choice. All other effects of the spell remain the same.

Anger: the rage burning inside grants you a bonus to the damage rolls of your Favoured Emotion spells. The bonus equals your Charisma modifier (minimum of +1).

Fright: Immediately after using any of your Favoured Emotion spells, you can target up to 3 creatures within 5ft of you that you can see, which must make a Strength save against your Spell Save DC. On failure, they are knocked back 10ft. A creature can choose to fail this DC.

Twisted Feelings

At 14th level, you can feel the strength of emotions from others around you and use it to twist the fabric of reality. As a bonus action, you can expend a sorcery point to teleport up to 120ft. into an unoccupied space adjacent to any creature you can see, provided that creature is not dead

Starting at 18th level, you are immune to being charmed or frightened. Your Charisma score increases by 2, up to a maximum of 22. You also feel an increased pull from your chosen Favoured Emotion and can cast your 1st level Favoured Emotion spells without expending a spell slot.
