Base Class: Bard
The power of a bard lies in their song. The scholars of the College of Hymnals know that power is best wielded in multiplicity. As a mouth-piece of the Gods, they lead their allies as a conductor does a holy choir.
Inspiring Sermon
A shepherd is nought without their flock. When you join the college of Hymnals at the third level you gain the ability to protect your flock in its totality, not simply it's key members.
When you use your Bardic Inspiration feature, you may select a number of creatures equal to your charisma modifier to share the inspiration, instead of only one. Any of those creatures can roll the Bardic Inspiration die, when applicable, but doing so expends the die for all creatures.
Voice of Piety
A Paladin can lead an army, and a Cleric a sermon, but only you can imbue righteous virtue into the hearts of those that lack it.
Beginning at third level, you may attempt to create virtue in a crowd you preach to for at least 1 minute. After your speech has ended, you may choose any number of creatures who listened to all of it, of their own volition, they must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be under the effects of the Zone of Truth spell. This effect ends on a target after 10 minutes, if it takes any damage, if you attack it, or if it witnesses you acting in a way it considers impious.
If a target succeeds on its saving throw, the target has no hint that you tried to compel it magically.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Choral Aegis
At 6th level, the bond between you and your flock has strengthened so much that you are able to seek retribution for each other at a moments notice.
A creature that has a Bardic Inspiration die from you can roll it as a reaction when an ally they can see is damaged, they can make a weapon attack against the creature that damaged that ally, adding radiant damage to the damage of the attack equal to the number rolled if it hits. Alternatively, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to make the same attack.
Penatant Visage
At 14th level, you have become such a beacon of devotion that your very presence leads those less pure then you to desire atonement. When a creature targets you with an attack or harmful spell, it must first make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the attack or spell. The creature automatically passes this saving throw if it has seen you act in a way it considers impious, or if they harbour no guilt, however minor, from actions in their past.
Furthermore, when you use your Inspiring Sermon feature, you can grant your flock multiple Bardic Inspiration die at the same time, although they cannot be used on the same roll.
