Base Class: Monk
Monks that follow the Way of the InterceptingStrike embrace formlessness, spontaneity, and adaptation. They believe that a martial artist should not try to predict what will happen. But to exist in a state of relaxed readiness, reacting to whatever comes their way with fluid confident movements. Free from doubt or hesitation. To flow like a river or crash like a wave as the moment requires.
An Intercepting Strike monk focuses their energies into reacting to an opponent's attacks. They believe in striking first and ending fights as quickly as possible.
Intercepting Strike
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your reaction to intercept a melee attack or melee spell attack that would normally hit you. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Wisdom(Insight) modifier + your monk level. In addition, you can spend 1 ki point to force an unarmed opportunity attack against the attacking creature.
The intercepting strike cannot be performed while wearing armor, using a shield, or while incapacitated. It must be an unarmed strike.
Be like water flowing through the cracks...
At 3rd level, the monk can exploit even the tiniest opening in their opponent's defenses.
While unarmored, you gain the benefits of the Sentinel feat.
- Whenever you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, its speed drops to 0 for the rest of the turn. This stops any movement they may have been taking.
- Creatures within your reach provoke opportunity attacks even if they took the Disengage action.
- When a creature within your reach makes an attack against a target other than you (and that target doesn't have this feat), you can use your reaction to make a melee attack against the attacking creature.
Be ready for whatever may come...
Starting at 6th level, the monk's mind and body remain in a constant state of relaxed awareness. Ready to react to anything.
If a monk has used their reaction for the round, they may spend 1 ki point to gain an additional reaction. They can do this as many times as they have remaining ki points.
Flow like a river... Crash like a wave...
At 11th level, when you Attack with your intercepting strike, you make two attacks instead of one.
Additionally, you can now use one of your intercepting strike attacks to attempt a grapple. The creature you’re attempting to grapple in this way must succeed in a Strength or Dexterity check against your Ki Save DC to avoid or escape the grapple.
Explosive Power...
At 17th level, you can add your Wisdom(insight) modifier to the damage of your Intercepting Strikes.

Posted Feb 11, 20241d10 + your Wisdom(Insight) modifier + your monk level. seems a bit broken seeing how you could get max wisdom + expertise, esp at early levels
