Bard
Base Class: Bard

The College of Theatre was inspired in part by The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, as well as the Druid's Wild Shape Mechanic. This subclass aims to be a true jack of all trades, allowing the character to perform in many areas but not really excelling in one. College of Theatre Bards empower themselves by performing so well, they truly believe that they are their character, granting some benefits depending on who they are performing as with the help of their magical costumes and masks.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Theatre, you gain proficiency with disguise kits. You also gain proficiency with one of the following: Forgery Kits, Jeweler's Tools, Leatherworker's Tools, Weaver's Tools, or Woodcarver's Tools.

Alternate Persona

When you choose this college at 3rd level, you learn to strengthen your attributes based on the perspectives of your audience through the use of magic imbued costumes and masks. As an action, you can expend a Bardic Inspiration die to don an Alternative Persona. Personae last for a number of minutes equal to your roll unless you fall unconscious or choose to end it as a bonus action. An additional Persona cannot be donned while another Persona is in use. At any time during your performance, you may expend additional Bardic Inspiration dice to extend the duration of your performance by a number of minutes equal to your roll.

Personae may have such effects as, but not limited to: altering ability scores, gaining proficiencies, and/or altering size/appearance. Starting at 3rd level when you choose the College of Theatre Bardic Subclass, you may have a maximum of 4 personae. The number of personae you may have increases to 8 at 6th level, and 12 at 14th level. Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the personae you've created and replace it with another persona you meet the prerequisites for from the list.

Keep in mind that the following costumes are purely suggestions and should be proofread by your Dungeon Master. Please confer with you Dungeon Master and create additional personae tailored to the campaign setting they are used in.

Brief Intermission

At 6th level, you become more timely when donning costumes and can do so as a bonus action. Your costumes also become more elaborate, unlocking stronger abilities.

Method Acting

At 14th level, your ability to adopt a character has grown to the point that you may do so for all hours of the day. At the end of each long rest, you may assign one Alternate Persona you know to be your Method. There is no limit to the number of times you may step into character as your chosen Method for that day. Stepping into character using this feature does not require Bardic Inspiration dice, nor are additional Bardic Inspiration dice required to stay in character past the first minute. Your costumes become near indistinguishable from the real thing and increase in power once again.
