Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians are specially suited for the loss of control brought about by the bestial curse of lycanthropy. One prepared to control the monstrous animal that now lurks within them will not find themselves wanting for power.
Overwhelming Pounce
Beginning at 6th level when in beast form you grow to large size, and an enemy grappled by you must make a Strength Save or be knocked prone. Your bite deals 1d10+Str. Modifier to prone enemies. Prone enemies have disadvantage to escaping your grapple.
Lunar Bloodrites
Starting at 6th level, your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming Resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Deep Within The Frame Of Man
Beginning at 10th level, when raging, your unarmed damage dice increase to 2d6, your bite damage is increased to 1d10 and 1d12 against prone creatures, and you gain the use of the ability Beast Roar, which you can use it a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier per long rest. This can be done as an action or in reaction to being targeted by a projectile. A loud, monstrous roar causes a shockwave around the you. Every creature within a 10 feet of you must succeed a Constitution saving throw equal to 10+your strength modifier+your proficiency bonus, or be pushed 10 feet from you and knocked prone. If they succeed they are pushed half the distance and not knocked prone. This shockwave also deflects incoming missiles, causing them to miss.
True Beasthood
Starting at 14th level, you can enter a state of true beasthood when raging, while in this state you:
.Advantage on all Intimidation (Charisma) checks, and may use your action to make an intimidation check to frighten all enemies that can see you (to the Dm's discretion)
.Disadvantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and (non intimidation) Charisma checks and saving throws.
.All attacks made by you deal one extra die of weapon damage.
.you become huge sized
When your rage ends, you suffer two levels of Exhaustion (as described in Conditions).
Lycanthropic fighting
When raging your unarmed attacks deal 2d4+Str modifier damage, and you gain a bite attack that deals 1d8+Str modifier damage. Also when raging you gain +10 speed, and vulnerability to silver. You can not wield a weapon while raging.
Of Wolf And Man
You shift into beast form when you rage. when you do so, for the Duration of your rage you can grapple a creature one size larger than you or less as a Bonus Action, on each of your turns after this one. You can make a bite attack against a grappled foe as a bonus action.
I NEED this to be official content. This is beautiful and I would just LOVE to play a barbarian of this path. But a few changes I would add:
- Resistance to non magical attacks (bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing with non silvered and no magical damage stacked on normal weapon attacks)
- Every time you start a rage, you make a wisdom saving throw, and again on the start of each of your turns whilst raging. On failed saves, the DM controls who you attack on your turn. when you pass the saving throw, you regain control of your mind for the rest of the encounter.
I absolutely love this. I am going to let a player use it but I am adding two things. Damage Resistances to nonmagical SPB and then chance to lose control of yourself.
this is everything homebrew should be. beautiful work.
