Monks of the Way of the Sun Soul learn to channel their own life energy into searing bolts of light. They teach that meditation can unlock the ability to unleash the indomitable light shed by the soul of every living creature.

Radiant Sunbolt

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can hurl searing bolts of magical radiance. You can make an attack action that lets you hurl a ball of ki up to 30 feet that deals damage equal to your unarmed strike damage. This attack can be used in place of any unarmed strike. You can spend 1 ki point as a bonus action to make 2 sunbolt attacks.

 

Solar Flare

At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your ki into searing waves of energy. 

As an action, you can create a small ball of light that sheds bright light up to 15 feet, and dim light an additional 15 feet out. As a bonus action, you can end this early.

Also, as a bonus action, you can spend 2 ki to send out a flash of powerful light that blinds enemies and deals 2d6 radiant damage in a 15 foot cone to all enemies who fail a Dexterity saving throw. If they succeed on the throw, they take half damage instead, and are not affected by the blind. You can spend additional ki to increase the damage by 1d6 radiant damage per additional ki spent.

Ki Release

At level 11, you can spend 4 ki to have a bubble of fire expand from where you are, forcing each creature within 15 feet of you to make a Dexterity saving throw. On a fail, they take 4d6 fire damage and are knocked prone. If they succeed, they take half as much damage and are not knocked prone. 

Dragon Soul Awakened

At 17th level, you can spend 6 ki to gain the ability to ignite your soul with the power of the fire of the sun itself, surrounding your hands with burning ki so they do bonus radiant damage equal to 1d6. You increase the power of your Radiant Sunbolts so that they explode dealing half their damage to enemies within 5 feet of their original target. You are able to protect yourself with the fiery aura that surrounds you, giving you resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage. These effects last for 10 minutes or until you are incapacitated. You can only use this your Constitution modifier, minimum 1, number of times per day.
