Through meditation and intense physical training, the monk choosing this path is able to overcome the ordinary limitations of body and mind.  They are able to channel their Ki through their own mind and body, into the minds of others, to manipulate the elements around them or even unlock the mysteries of the universe itself.  Those who pursue the Way of the Psion find several roads or orders to pursue: The Order of the Avatar, The Order of the Awakened, The Order of the Immortal, The Order of the Nomad, The Order of the Soul Knife, and The Order of the Wu Jen.  

The Order of the Avatar - Devotees of this order specialize in manipulating emotions allowing them to embolden their comrades, or create fear in their enemies.

The Order of the Awakened - Devotees of this order gain power to penetrate the minds of others by force causing the victim to perceive illusions, feel great pain, or even alter their minds directly.

The Order of the Immortal - Devotees of this order gain power to control and manipulate their physical form and chemistry within their own bodies.

The Order of the Nomad - Devotees of this order gain powers to help them unlock the hidden secrets of the universe and find knowledge.

The Order of the Wu Jen - Devotees of this order train themselves to be able to manipulate the elemental energies around them in an effort to reshape and mold the physical reality of the world.

 

Disciplined Mind

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn magical disciplines that harness the power of the mind, body and spirit. A psionic spell requires you to spend ki points each time you use it.

You know the spells from your chosen orders.  You learn one additional order's abilities at 6th, and 11th levels.

Additionally, gain 1 cantrip choosing from the following: Mage Hand, Message, [Tooltip Not Found], True Strike, Spare the Dying.  It costs 1 Ki points to use.

Casting Psionic Spells

Some psionic spells allow you to cast spells. See the Spellcasting section for the general rules of spellcasting. To cast one of these spells, you use its casting time and other rules, but you don’t need to provide material components for it.

Once you reach 5th level in this class, you can spend additional ki points to increase the level of an elemental discipline spell that you cast, provided that the spell has an enhanced effect at a higher level, as burning hands does. The spell’s level increases by 1 for each additional ki point you spend. For example, if you are a 5th-level monk and use Sweeping Cinder Strike to cast burning hands, you can spend 3 ki points to cast it as a 2nd-level spell (the discipline’s base cost of 2 ki points plus 1).

The maximum number of ki points you can spend to cast a spell in this way (including its base ki point cost and any additional ki points you spend to increase its level) is determined by your monk level, as shown in the Spells and Ki Points table.
