Base Class: Rogue
Those who follow this archetype are individuals who have at some point been affected by the Astral Sea. As a result, you have gained the ability to shift in and out of existence and you have trained yourself to use this to your advantage. Those who have the unfortunate luck to meet these terrifying assassins on the battlefield see the flow at which these gifted individuals weave through the enemies with otherworldly ease.
Teleporting Strike
Starting at 3rd level once per turn when you hit the target with an attack (any attacks suffice this requisition) you can as the part of the attack blink towards the target. You arrive at 10 ft. near the target, you can't end your turn in another creature's space.
Swift Assassin
Starting at 9th level you gain advantage on initiative. Moreover, the target you hit on the first turn in combat the target is marked by the shift in the weave and becomes vulnerable to your assault. Whenever you hit the marked creature your damage becomes force damage. Moreover, you crit against the target at 18-20. Once used this feature cannot be used until a short or long rest.
Material Rift
Choose targets equal to your Dex modifier (minimum of 1) and make individual attack roles against those creatures. If the attack hits then the first target takes the full sneak attack damage while the other targets take sneak attack damage equal to half of the total sneak attack (rounded down). The damage is force damage in the case of these attacks. Once used this feature cannot be used until a Long Rest.
Master Blinker
As the epitome of the art of shifting in and out of existence you gain the following benefits:
1) You gain resistance to weapons made by non-magical weapons.
2) When you are hit in combat you can use your reaction to teleport 30 ft in any direction.
3) You can as an action use the Greater Invisibility, while in this form you gain resistance you all elemental damage. You can use this a number of times equal to half your Dex modifier (rounded up). You regain all your charges at the end of a long rest

Posted Mar 13, 2020Its easier to discuss balancing over discord, if you would really like to discuss how we can trim this class down a little, I'm SignificantOtter#5104

Posted Mar 10, 2020Hey man really thanks for the comment, in your opinion how would you balance this subclass. This is my first attempt at making anything so I'm open to anything really XD My core idea was just the free blink mechanic and everything else was just build around to justify that concept. So any and all feedback is really appreciated.
My idea behind the swift assassin's concept was that it only applies to whomever the rogue first hits. This would make it so that the player would have to tactically decide who the first target is since the bonus doesn't carry to any other enemy.
I made this subclass initially for the ability to blink all over the battlefield and as such, it can be seen with it being the first ability on the subclass list where it's accessible early and can be up to the player to decide and weave through the battlefield with the range of the weapon being limit.
I agree that Material Rift and Master Blinker is just pure and simple broken since I had no idea what to put here to be something that doesn't feel underwhelming so I decided to just make it broken as hell and then start trimming around the edges to make it more polished.

Posted Mar 9, 2020This class is interesting to me because it has so much potential, however, the way it currently was written up is very much overtuned. Near unlimited mobility with the abuse of their reliable teleports, Once per short rest 18-20 crit on one target all in force damage (In which you also have sneak attack being converted), An Area of effect buff to sneak attack by the same means, and resistance to the majority of damage types passively. And that's just the subclasses uses... To use this one, I would have to severely edit every ability starting from scratch.

Posted Jan 7, 2020Just for clarification, you left out the level needed to have Material Rift and Master Blinker.

Posted Dec 31, 2019Hey guys who have added this to their collection, can you tell me what you think of the subclass and any opinions you might have of tweaking the class. I'll really appreciate it since it's my first time creating something like this.
Thanks and regards,
