Base Class: Fighter
The Landsknecht were mercenary soldiers who became an important military force in late medieval and early modern Europe. Fighters who model themselves after Landsknecht likely prefer fighting with heavy weapons, and are proficient in melee combat and ranged combat. Landsknecht became so prolific, they were sometimes seen fighting on both sides of war, with thousands serving the various empires of europe.
Bonus Proficiency
Landsknecht were masters of fighting on foot and in continental Europe, using the most modern technology of the time to gain an edge on the battlefield.
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Firearms, Vehicles(land), and Performance.
Doppelsoldner
Doppelsoldner were the volunteers from among the Landsknecht, choosing to fight on the front lines. These brave warriors were famous for their use of the Zweihander, Half-Plate and poofy hats. While you are wielding a 2-handed melee weapon with a reach of less than 10 feet, that weapon's reach becomes 10 feet. Additionally, while wielding a 2-handed weapon and wearing a poofy hat, you may choose to make a special Headbutt attack in the place of one of your regular attacks as part of an Attack action. This attack uses Strength, and you are assumed to be proficient. If this attack hits, the target must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to your strength score, falling prone on a failed save.
Alte Kameraden
Starting at 7th level, when you are using a 2-handed melee weapon and a friendly creature within 30ft of you is hit with a melee attack by a creature you can see, you may, as a reaction, move up to 15 feet closer to your ally.
Zweihander Adept
Starting at 10th level, you are adept at fighting with polearms and other 2-handed weapons. While wielding a 2-handed melee weapon, you may add an extra 1d6 damage to each attack.
Improved Critical
Starting at 15th level, you have become able to find chinks in your foes armor while wielding a 2-handed weapon. While wielding a 2-handed weapon, your critical hits deal maximum damage.
Defensive Stance
Also starting at 15th level, while you are wielding a 2-handed weapon and wearing medium armor, you may use a bonus action to increase your AC by a number equal to your Constitution modifier, and then reduce the total AC by your Dexterity Modifier (maximum of 2). This bonus lasts for 1 minute, and uses your concentration as if it were a spell. You can do this a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and you regain all uses on a short or long rest.
Soldier of Lady Fortuna
At 18th level, you have truly gained the love of Lady Fortuna. Whenever you would fail a death saving throw, you can instead choose to treat the result as a natural 20, regaining 1 hit point. You can do this a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier.
