Base Class: Warlock
Visionaries follow a path laid out by their dreams and visions of the future. While these dreams might come from some specific entity or prophecy, they could also be the result of the characters inherent sight, with the implicit pact that visions must be acted on, either to prevent or facilitate, for the visionary to gain their power as a warlock.
Expanded Spell List
The Visionary lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Visionary Expanded Spells
| SPELL LEVEL | SPELLS |
|---|---|
| 1st | detect magic, identify |
| 2nd | locate object, see invisibility |
| 3rd | nondetection, tongues |
| 4th | arcane eye, divination |
| 5th | contact other plane, legend lore |
Portent
As a Visionary glimpses of the future begin to press in on your awareness. When you finish a long rest, roll two d20s and record the numbers rolled. You can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by you or a creature that you can see with one of these foretelling rolls. You must choose to do so before the roll, and you can replace a roll in this way only once per turn.
Each foretelling roll can be used only once. When you finish a long rest, you lose any unused foretelling rolls.
Markers on the Path
Visionaries often gain glimpses of the future that makes you more likely to spot significant details or attain observations. You have advantage on skill rolls for Insight, Investigation and Perception.
One Step Ahead...
Starting at 6th level your glimpses of the future can give you a significant advantage in combat. You gain advantage on all initiative rolls.
Side Step
Starting at 6th level you are often able to see attacks coming and reduce their impact. As a reaction you can impose disadvantage on incoming attacks or advantage on one of your own saves a number of times per day equal to your Charisma modifier - minimum 1.
You regain all uses of this feature after you finish a short or a long rest.
True Sight
At 10th level you gain the ability to see things as they actually are. This ability is activated by an action and lasts for 1 minute / warlock level. For the duration, the Visionary has truesight, and notices secret doors hidden by magic, and can see into the Ethereal Plane, all out to a range of 90 feet.
Once this feature has been used, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
The Golden Path
At level 14 you gain a limited ability to see into the immediate future. This ability requires a bonus action to activate and lasts for one minute. For the duration, you can't be surprised and have advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws. Additionally, other creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls against the target for the duration.
Once this feature has been activated it can not be used again until you finish a short or long rest.

Posted Jun 14, 2018Doesn’t fit the format for the site I guess? Really cool idea, will recommend to players as an idea, but it freezes up when trying to apply it to a character on site.
