Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Horizon walkers guard the world against threats that originate from other planes or that seek to ravage the mortal realm with otherworldly magic. They seek out planar portals and keep watch over them, venturing to the Inner Planes and the Outer Planes as needed to pursue their foes. These rangers are also friends to any forces in the multiverse – especially benevolent dragons, fey, and elementals – that work to preserve life and the order of the planes.

A Dream Walker is a specialized Horizon walker that has spent extensive time on the Plane of Dreams. They may spend as much time in the Dream World as a normal person spends awake on the Material Plane.

Living the Dream

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to magically sense the presence of a dreamer, an individual with an active dream portal, within 1 mile. By touching a dreaming person, you can enter their dream along with anyone else you are linked hands with at the time.

You are always aware you are on the Plane of Dreams, but any companions brought with you may not be. You may enter the Plane of Dreams instead of the Ethereal Plane any time a spell or action would have you enter that plane.

Dream Warrior

At 3rd level, you learn to draw on the power of the Plane of Dreams to augment your attacks.

As a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The next time you hit that creature on this turn with a weapon attack, all damage dealt by the attack becomes psychic damage, and the creature takes an extra 1d8 psychic damage from the attack. When you reach 11th level in this class, the extra damage increases to 2d8.

Lucid Dreamer

At 7th level, you learn to better control the Plane of Dreams. You have advantage on any checks when you attempt to modify an attribute of the World of Dreams.

Once you fail a check, you no longer have advantage on subsequent checks until you take a short or long rest in the Material Plane.

Sleepwalk

At 11th level, you gain the ability to use your mind to move on the Plane of Dreams. When you use the Attack action, before each attack you make you can pick an unoccupied space you can see within 10 feet. You close your eyes and appear in that space when you reopen your eyes, before initiating your attack as normal.

If you attack at least two different creatures with the action, you can make one additional attack with it against a third creature.

Shaper of Dreams

At 15th level, your ability to manipulate the reality of the Dream World has become that of an expert. Whenever a creature makes an attack roll against you in the Plane of Dreams and doesn't have advantage on the roll, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on it. You must use this feature before you know the outcome of the attack roll.

Dream Walker Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Dream Walker Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.
