Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Command is taken by paladins who are meant to be war commanders, party leaders, heads of state, or rulers of any kind. These paladins surrender their entire lives for the sake of their people and to ensure their position. Due to their dependence on the loyalty by others, paladins who take this oath are at unusually high risk of becoming Oathbreakers. Due to this risk, most who plan on taking this oath only do so in conjunction with a follower taking an ensuring oath, like the Oath of the Crown or the Oath of Protection. Many who take the Oath of Command pray to one of the high leaders of a pantheon, like Zeus, Ra, or Odin.

TENETS OF COMMAND

Though the exact words and strictures of the Oath of Command vary, paladins of this oath share these tenets.

Advancement. Ensure that you never drop down the power ladder.

Courage. No matter how big your following, always know when to step up yourself.

Trust. Be willing to give orders and rely on your followers. Give as many reasons to trust you as possible, but punish those who betray your trust.

Sovereignty. Stand for what you did and said, and proactively correct your own mistakes before they have to be pointed out.

Delegation. Nobody is good at everything and everybody is good at something. Use your allies strength to their fullest.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Oath of Command Spells table. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.

Oath of Command Spells

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.

Call for Action. You can use your Channel Divinity to strengthen your allies. As an action, every allied creature within 30 ft. of you gains temporary HP equal to your Paladin level + you Charisma-modifier. Temporary HP gained by Call for Action reset when you take a Short or Long Rest.

My Strength is Yours. As an action, give one ally of your choice one point of a class resource that they are missing and that would restore all points on a short rest. If the target could use that resource by doing something as an action or a bonus action, they can immediately use their reaction to use that ability instead.

Strength in numbers

Starting at 7th level, you learn to harness the pure force of your allies. Whenever you use your divine smite, the damage it deals is increased by a number equal to the amount of allies within 30 ft. of you, up to a maximum equal to your Paladin level.

Known Leader

Starting at 15th level, the symbol of your power and influence has grown to be known and feared over a large portion of the land, and even those who do not recognize it feel its imminent power.

While your personal symbol is visible on yourself, you have advantage on all Charisma checks. Additionally, whenever you cast a spell or use an effect that requires the target to make a Wisdom saving throw, that saving throw is made at disadvantage.

Follow My Words

At 20th level, your word becomes law, and as such, irresistible. As an action, you can gain the ability to cast suggestion as a bonus action at will. This effect lasts for one hour.

This ability can only be used once, and you regain this use when you finish a long rest.
