Monk
Base Class: Monk

Strike as swift as the coursing river with this aquatic subclass!

River's Wrath

Beginning at 3rd level, you know the shape water cantrip. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this ability. In addition, you may make a ranged spell attack with this ability, provided there is water nearby to manipulate. The damage of this ability is equal to your martial arts die and you use your wisdom modifier for the attack and damage rolls. You can choose the damage type between bludgeoning or slashing. You can make the attack from any source of water within 30 feet of you, as long as the enemy is within 30 feet of the water source as well. This attack counts as an unarmed strike, allowing you to make an unarmed strike or use flurry of blows as a bonus action. At 5th level, the damage counts as magical for purposes of overcoming resistance.

Oceanic Attunement

At 6th level, you become better attuned to the ocean. You gain the ability to cast your shape water cantrip as a bonus action. However you still may only make your ranged spell attack with this catrip when it is used as an action.

Needle Rain

Beginning at 11th level, you gain the ability to cause piercing rain to poor over opponents. As an action, you can cause water to accumulate above a point you choose within 150 feet, where, after a brief moment, sharp dagger-like rain begins to descend at a high speed. Each creature under that 20 foot radius sphere of water must succeed on a Dexterity throw or take 2d6 magical piercing damage.

You can increase the rain's power by spending ki points. Each point of ki you spend, up to a maximum of 3, increases the damage by 2d6.

Tidal Aspect

At 17th level, your training in commanding water has begun to soak into your very body. You gain the following effects:

  • You have advantage to escape the grappled and restrained conditions.
  • You can breathe underwater.
  • You have a swim speed equal to your movement speed.
  • You suffer none of the drawbacks from squeezing.
  • You can move through an enemy's space but you cannot end your turn there.
