Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Purity is an oath exclusively for women who wish to preserve the beauty and sanctity of life. Paladins who follow this path may take many possible titles: battlemaidens, shield-sisters, daughters of Odin, valkyries, or guardian angels. These paladins specialize in aerial combat and support. Those who take the pledge of purity know that they are to devote themselves entirely to the preservation and order of life, and to see to it that those who tempt to steal away such a power from the gods see swift justice.

Tenets of Purity

A paladin who takes this oath bears the runic symbols of the sisters tattooed onto her body and etched into her weapons and armor.

Beauty. Treasure yourself as the gods did so treasure the life they bestowed upon us. Beauty is both a source of strength for myself and a terror for my enemies on the battlefield.

Love. In love, we know true happiness. Wherever it may be, love should be fostered with the same care a mother bird gives to her chicks.

Virtue. Upholding the disciplines of a good life is the best way to ensure a long, prosperous existence.

Sanctity. Undeath is an absolute defiance of the laws of life and death; it should be dealt with accordingly.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

To the Sky. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to bask yourself in a radiant cloak of feathers, which creates two glowing, angelic wings that unfurl from your back. Your transformation lasts for 1 minute or until you end it as a bonus action. During your transformation, you gain a flight speed equal to your movement speed. This fly speed increases by 10 feet at 10th and 15th levels.

Otherworldly Beauty. You can use your Channel Divinity to take on an almost celestial appearance, leading many to believe you to be a goddess. As an action, you can force each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you that can see you to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature becomes charmed by you for 1 minute. The charmed creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

3rd. ray of frost, sanctuary

5th. calm emotions, gentle repose

9th. beacon of hope, spirit guardians

13th. banishment, ice storm

17th. geas, mass cure wounds

Aura of Purity

Beginning at 7th level, friendly creatures within 30 feet of you have advantage on all healing dice and death saving throws. You may also cast gentle repose on any creature who dies within this area as a reaction.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 60 feet and any creature who dies while under the effect of your aura does not require material components to be revived by a spell.

Runic Blast

At 7th level, you gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet, but it may be used with your Divine Smite feature. You are proficient with it, and you add your Charisma modifier to its attack and damage rolls. It deals either radiant or cold damage (your choice), and its damage die is the same as the melee weapon you are wielding.

Ride of the Valkyrie

Starting at 15th level, both of your Channel Divinity features activate any time you use your Channel Divinity.

Venerated Battlemaiden

At 20th level, you can use your action to change your form and become the very embodiment of purification. When you do so, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • You gain a flight speed equal to the flight speed of your Channel Divinity feature.
  • Your Lay on Hands feature works without requiring you touch the target; it now only requires that you can see the intended target.
  • If an attack would bring any creature within 30 feet of you down to 0 hit points, you may use a reaction to bring it back to 1 hit point instead. A creature may only benefit from this once per long rest.
  • You may cast gentle repose at-will, without expending a spell slot.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
