Base Class: Monk
The Monks of the Living Form are known for their intense spiritual training among all other monastic traditions. Refining their soul more than their body, these monks exhibit supernatural feats that one can only attain with great discipline and dedication. Utilizing their Ki as a way to briefly manifest their spiritual body as an ethereal copy of themselves to accompany them in their attacks or as an ally to aid them in their movements.
Expanded Ki
Your strict discipline and dedication to improve your spiritual growth opens up new possibilities that only those of your tradition have unlocked. Upon choosing this tradition at 3rd level, you gain additional 2 Ki Points and you only need half of the time of rest meditating to regain your Ki Points.
You may spend your Ki Points to also perform this Ki Feature:
Ethereal Body
As an Action, you may spend up to 3 + (Monk level) Ki Points to manifest your Ethereal Body in an empty space around you. You still retain consciousness and act as normal with your physical body. You can choose to have your Ethereal Body to have its turn come after or before you for the next round. Lasts for 1 minute + an additional minute for every Ki Point spent after the first 3. You may also spend an Action to recall your Ethereal Body back, ending the effects early.
Mechanics of the Ethereal Body
Your Ethereal Body has HP equal to (Monk level) x Ki Points spent and retains all stats, proficiency and modifiers that you have. The Ethereal Body can also perform Ki Features by expending its HP as Ki Points instead. Each time it ends its turn, it loses d4 HP. Your Ethereal Body takes half damage from any form of damage except for Necrotic, Radiant and Psychic in which it takes twice the damage.
You can control your Ethereal Body, allowing you to move around you and perform Unarmed Attacks and other actions that requires physical feat other than Movement as it will always move when you move, attempting to stay 15 feet around you whenever possible but if you are forcibly moved away through any means and your Ethereal Body is more than 15 feet away, it dissipates and you take half of the damage it would take if its HP reaches 0 and you cannot use the Ethereal Body Ki Feature until you finished a Short Rest.
If your Ethereal Body's duration ends and it has not taken any damage, you recover all of your spent Ki Points for this feature but, if it took at least 1 point of damage by the time the duration ends, you only recover 1 Ki Point.
If your Ethereal Body's HP reaches 0, it dissipates and you take 2d10+d6 for every Ki Point spent as Psychic damage and your Ethereal Body Ki Feature cannot be used after until you finished a Long Rest.
At 11th level, your Ethereal Body is no longer bound by you and can now move up to 60 feet away from you and 120 feet away at 17th level.
Soul Extension
At 6th level, your control with your spiritual power allows you to briefly manifest a part of your Ethereal Body in junction with your movement, effectively extending your reach when needed or striking enemies without actual physical contact. Each turn, you can convert the damage dealt from your Unarmed Attacks or Monk Weapon into Psychic damage as well as strike your target up to 30 feet away. Actions that would otherwise harm or affect the user if they are in physical contact does not apply when used with this feature.
While your Ethereal Body is active, it will instead mimic your action.
Phase Out
At 11th level, tireless training in both spirit and body allows your physical body to momentarily slip into the spirit plane, allowing you to avoid incoming attacks or phase through physical obstacles. You become intangible alongside anything you were wearing or holding the moment you activate this feat and it only lasts for brief moments. Once per turn, you may perform one of the following:
As a Bonus Action, you perform a feint attack in which if it hits, gives them Disadvantage to the next Attack Roll against them.
You can also use this as a Reaction if you see an attack is made against you, granting you additional AC equal to your half of your Monk level for that attack.
Forced Extraction
At 17th level, you become capable of knocking the soul of away from its body temporarily. When you hit a creature with an Unarmed strike or Monk Weapon, you can spend 5 Ki Points to immediately knock it unconscious, knock the physical body 15 feet away and create a visible Ethereal Body of the creature in front of you. It follows the same mechanics as Ethereal Body, possessing 15 HP.
Unless the creature is versed in terms of being a spirit, they gain Disadvantage to all Checks and Rolls they make while in their Ethereal Body. The creature may also attempt to return to their physical body, requiring them to succeed against your Ki's Save DC.
