Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of Glass see their mystical energy as a force, meant to be used to protect before it is used to fight. They are slow to action, deliberate and transparent, and steadfast in their convictions. They follow a set of tenets left by the Great Dragon Turtle: Glass is valued for its strength; Glass is sharpest when it is broken; Glass may take any form once molten; The strength of Glass is in its stillness.
Glass Walls
Glass is valued for its strength. Starting at 3rd level, you can use your Ki to create the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 3 Ki points to cast Mage Armor, Shield of Faith, Shield, or Blur, without providing material components. You also gain the Blade Ward cantrip if you do not already have it.
Glass Hit Points
Life is both the intangible Force of the energy of Self, and the physical form that contains it. Starting at 6th level, whenever your max hp increases, instead of increasing your max hit points normally, you instead increase the size of a pool of Glass hit points. When you take bludgeoning, piercing, slashing, or force damage, you must reduce your Glass HP instead of your regular HP if you have one or more Glass HP, with any excess damage reducing your regular HP. When you regain hit points, you must regain all of your regular HP before you can regain glass HP. Glass HP can only be regained when you use hit dice, or after a long rest.
Your Glass HP is part of your overall health, but cannot be lost to damage types other than bludgeoning, piercing, slashing, or force. If all of your regular HP is exhausted, but you still have Glass HP, you are still living and conscious.
Glass Edges
Glass is sharpest when it has been broken. From 6th level, if you are missing more than half (rounded down) of your Glass hit points, you deal +1 damage per attack with your Unarmed Strikes. If all of your Glass HP is expended, you deal +2 damage per Unarmed Strike.
Malleable Glass
Glass may take any form once molten. At 11th level, you learn to turn the energy of life into Ki. By taking a minute, as long as you have Glass HP, you may convert it into Glass Ki points, with 6 Glass HP becoming 1 Glass Ki. Glass Ki can be used in place of, or alongside your regular Ki. You may not use this feature to reduce your regular HP, and if you have 5 or fewer Glass HP this feature is unavailable. Any Glass Ki that is unused when you take a long rest is lost.
Solid Glass
The strength of Glass is in its stillness. Beginning at 17th level you learn to slow the movement of your fluid self. If you do not move on your turn, and have at least one Glass hit point, you become resistant to bludgeoning, slashing, piercing, and force damage until the end of your next turn.
