Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Wine has been made by the many of the world's races for thousands of years. It quench's our thirst, brings joy to those who drink it and, in its finest forms, provokes contemplation of its myriad aromas and flavours which often seem otherworldly. Gods who help to bring this nectar to life include Sharess, Llira, Sune, Chauntea and, should your DM allow it Bacchus. These gods provide people with means of enjoying the bounties of creation and help people to temper the demands of their often dreary, ugly lives with a little warmth, beauty and joy. As the humble grape, plucked from nature's divine pantry, is transformed into something complex, elegant and fine, so might the poor souls of this world be elevated above their humble stations to achieve greatness and, in so doing, spread beauty and enlightenment among their peers. It is the duty of the Enology Domain cleric to be the catalyst for this change.

Tipsy Erudition

At 1st level, you learn two languages of your choice. You also become proficient in your choice of two of the following skills: Deception, Insight, Persuasion, or Religion.

Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of those skills.

Channel Divinity: Vintner's Boon

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to create a bottle of wine of uncommonly good quality.

You conduct an hour-long ritual that crafts a delicious drop. The ritual must include half a gallon of water, a waterskin or other suitable container and fervent prayer to your god for the entire duration.

At the end of the ritual, the water is transformed into two pints of delicious wine. The two pints are made up of six servings, each of which grants you 2d4 + your wisdom modifier. The wine can be shared or retained as you wish, but you know that wine is infinitely better when shared. The wine's divine properties last for twenty four hours and you can perform this ritual only once between long rests.

Channel Divinity: Impose Intoxication

At 6th level you can use your Channel Divinity so that, when a creature within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, you can use your reaction to attempt to cause them serious inebriation, to the point where they are seeing double, and impose disadvantage on the their attack roll. You make this choice after you see the roll, but before the DM says whether the attack hits or misses.

DiVine Strike

At 8th level, you gain the ability to temporarily replicate the effects of a very nasty hangover. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can impose the effects of said very nasty hangover, causing the attack to deal an extra 1d8 psychic damage to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.

Veteran Oenologist

At 17th level, your blessed with the finest of wines becomes more powerful:

  • As you have drunk so many wines of greatly varying qualities in your travels, some of which have been supplied by some very suspect people, you have gained immunity to poison and disease.
  • Any creature that attempts to affect you with poison damage has disadvantage on its next attack against you as it is bedazzled by the extraordinary complexity of flavours now found in your partially vinous blood.
  • You are able to drink to your heart's content whilst never exceeding that glorious spot where everything in the world seems perfect and you feel as if you can do anything you set your mind to. Drinking alcohol no longer imposes disadvantage on any of your rolls.
