Base Class: Rogue
Some rogues specialize in magic or thievery, but you have a clear passion for your blades. With what little magic you know, you have found a way to bind yourself to a pair of daggers to maximize their effectiveness. While a wizard would normally scoff at your application of the arcane, it’s quite hard to do with a blade in their lungs.
Bound Daggers
At 3rd level, you learn to perform a ritual that creates a magical bond between you and two daggers. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest. The daggers must be within reach throughout the ritual, at the conclusion of which you touch them both and forge a bond.
If you perform the ritual again, the two daggers you perform it with become your bound daggers, and any bound dagger that was not part of the ritual is no longer bound to you.
You can draw and stow both of your bound daggers at once, and have advantage on sleight of hand checks made to hide your bound daggers on your person or among your belongings. Additionally, when you engage in two-weapon fighting while wielding both of your bound daggers, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.
Weak Point
At 3rd level, when you make an attack with a bound dagger during your bonus action you may add half of your sneak attack dice, rounded down, in damage if sneak attack would apply and you have already used it during your turn.
Blade Call
At 9th level, as a bonus action, you can stow your bound daggers in or summon your bound daggers from an extra dimensional space. They must be held by you to be stowed, and are summoned to your hands. If you break your bond with one of the daggers or die, they reappear within five feet of you.
Additionally, as a bonus action you can call one of your bound daggers within 60 feet of you back to your hand. The dagger will travel in a straight line to you and return safely to your hand if it’s pathway is unobstructed. If an object or creature is in the way, you instead make a ranged weapon attack against the first object or creature in its path and the dagger’s movement ends next to the target. This attack may benefit from your sneak attack and weak point features.
+ Note for the DM: This attack may occur from a blind spot or catch an enemy by surprise. At your discretion, consider providing advantage on the first attack made with this feature against unaware enemies, or when attacks are made from a flanking angle or blind spot.
Dagger Marksman
At 13th level, ranged weapon attacks at long range made with your bound daggers no longer impose disadvantage on your weapon attack rolls.
Dagger Step
Starting at 13th level, as an action, you may make a ranged weapon attack, or simply throw, one of your bound daggers, and when it reaches its destination, or its maximum thrown distance, you teleport to its location with your grip on the hilt. This ability does not provoke attacks of opportunity. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum one), and you regain all uses of this ability when you finish a long rest.
The player may specify their position once they teleport, such as standing, crouching, or prone, and cannot teleport into a space that is already occupied by another creature. If the player elects to make a ranged attack when they dagger step, they appear in a space within 5 feet of where the dagger impacted the target so that they are not sharing an occupied space.
Kill Chain
At 17th level, when you kill an enemy with one of your bound daggers during your turn you may immediately move up to half of your movement speed and make a single melee attack against a creature. Alternatively, you can make a ranged weapon attack with a bound dagger at a creature within 15 feet of you and dagger step to it without consuming a use of dagger step. This attack can benefit from sneak attack if you haven’t already used it. If sneak attack could be but is not applied or has already been used this turn you may instead add damage from your weak point feature, even though this immediate attack is not a bonus action.
If this attack kills the new target, you may repeat this ability once more as a bonus action.
