Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is a powerful spirit which has gained power beyond the restraint of the common ghostly entity. The power may be due to their age as they have existed throughout hundreds of years and have grown in power, or perhaps the spirit in their past lives was a powerful warrior or a wise wizard, or perhaps in their past life the mortal was killed in such a way that they were cursed by magical means granting them more power in death. Their motives may vary; perhaps they seek to return to the living, perhaps they seek additional power, or perhaps they seek revenge against those who wronged them (or their families). Whatever the case may be, this spirit is more tied to you than many patrons would be, as in many cases you are their primary contact.

A Ghostly Reprieve

Starting at 1st level, you gain the ability to beckon your ghostly patron for assistance when in danger. You gain advantage on death saving throws, as the spirit intervenes. Also once per short rest as a reaction when you are hit with an attack, you can instead choose to have that attack miss.

Peering Beyond the Veil

At 6th level, your connection to your patron has allowed you to gain the ability to magically traverse the material plane as a ghostly observer. You are able to take one minute to go into a trance-like state, during which time you escape from your body and are able to walk as a spirit through the ethereal plane for one minute. During this time, your natural body will be unable to hear or speak.

You may use this power once per long rest. You gain additional uses at 10th and 14th level.

A Stay from Death's Door

Beginning at 10th level, your contact with your patron has allowed you to avoid the grips of death temporarily. If you are knocked unconscious, but not killed outright, your ghostly spirit arises. As long as you are unconscious, you are in control of your ghostly spirit, which has a speed of 30 feet and is invisible. While acting as a ghost you are capable of the following actions:

- Partial Possession: Intervene in battle taking partial control of an enemy creature, giving allies advantage on the first attack made against them.

Poltergeist Activity: You may perform minor activities, such as pull a level, push a button, or carry an item weighing at most 5 lbs.

- The Face of Death: While 5 feet from an ally, you commit your action to showing your ghostly visage of horror. Attacks made against your ally have disadvantage.

The Mark of the Spectre

Starting at 14th level, you are able to curse a creature with an invisible mark. When you hit a creature with an attack, you can choose to burn a mark into their face, dealing an additional 8d10 necrotic damage. Should the target survive, they will be marked for 24 hours magically. During this time, you are aware of the targets location and are able to peer through their eyes similar to a scry spell for one minute, after which the mark becomes removed.

Should the target die, their corpse will remained suspended and under your control for one minute, their hit points are equal to your warlock level + charisma modifier.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
