Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The bond begins with a light tether, one as fine as spiders’ silk but as strong as the sun is hot and the stars are bright. This is a process that is usual sought to be establish while both dragon and partner are still hatchlings, or as close to being so. Over time as the bond grows between the two, each must come to terms with the effects this will place upon them.

Forming a bond with a dragon is not something that one should take likely, it will be permanent even the most powerful magics cannot fully erase this bond. Either mortal or dragon can seek a bond with the other later in their lives but this will initially be more strenuous on both sides due to the increase in memories, emotions, experience and most importantly, the strength of their souls. This is because when a bond is forged it is not as simple as a mental link, a fondness for each other in an unexplainable way, it is a merging of souls, both would share all of themselves with the other. Both would still be themselves but at the same time not. To forge this bond, it reveals all of who and what you are before a being doing the same in return. There is an important aspect that needs to be addressed before a bond can be made later in life, do dragon and partner know themselves for who they truly are and who they will be. Do they want to know who each other truly are?

Bond Mark

You bear the physical mark of the dragon you serve. It can be big or small. This mark is imbued with magic which grant you your powers. It grants you resistance to Cold damage.      With this mark you can establish a telepathic link with your patron.

The mark also gives you a presence that can influence those around you. You become proficient with the Persuasion skill.

Embrace the Cold

At level 6, you have developed the ability to consume things that would otherwise be lethal to anyone else. Doing so restores part of your energy. When you receive cold damage, you can use your reaction to absorb the damage. When you do, you take no damage and you restore half the damage dealt to you as hit points.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you take a long rest.

Silver Ward

At 10th level, you can use the powers given by your contract to protect your allies from harm. You can expand a spell slot to give a number target creatures of your choice within 30 feet resistance to the type of damage given by your Bond Mark feature. The maximum number of creature that can be affected is equal to your Charisma modifier. This effect lasts for 1 minute.

Aspect of the Silver Dragon

At 14th level, you can assume the mighty form of your draconic patron for a short period of time. As an action, you take on the young form of a silver dragon for 1 minute.

You assume its game statistics with some differences:

  • You retain your alignment, personality, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. You also retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies, in addition to gaining those of the dragon. If the dragon has the same proficiency as you and the bonus in its stat block is higher than yours, use the dragon’s bonus instead of yours.
  • You can only use the breath weapon once during the transformation.
  • When you transform, your hit points are equal to your proficiency modifier multiplied by your warlock level. When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before you transformed. However, if you revert as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form. For example, if you take 10 damage in draconic form and have only 1 hit point left, you revert and take 9 damage. As long as the excess damage doesn’t reduce your normal form to 0 hit points, you aren’t knocked unconscious.
  • This form breaks whatever concentration spell you were maintaining. This form requires concentration to maintain.
  • Your equipment merges with you during your transformation but is unusable while in this form.
  • You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you can’t use any of your special senses, such as darkvision, unless your new form also has that sense.

You can revert to your normal form with an action. Once you use this feature, you must take a long rest before you use it again.
