A Half Elf enters a town, with a Gnome in tow. Onlookers stare as the two individuals bearing identical symbols on their foreheads stop for a moment and discuss something in a language not understood by any. The Half Elf proceeds forward, undeterred by the murmurs pertaining to her order from the forming crowd. She gazes around the town, her silvery eyes piercing and navigating through the crowd. She knows what she wants. She beckons for the gnome, and places a hand on his head. The symbols glow; first the Half Elf's and then the Gnome's. The Gnome opens his eyes, now covered in a shimmering film. He proceeds forward, a link of pale light forming between the Half Elf and the Gnome. As the Gnome walks around the crowd, he is drawn to one individual in particular, who becomes outlined in a silvery film. The man swallows; he knows what happens next. "This man deceives you all" the Half Elf cries, seemingly anguished. "Your transgressions do not hide from the moon!" The crowd takes the individual, a high ranking politician, into custody. The link between the Gnome and the Half Elf is broken and they continue on their way.

 

Those who walk the way of the Lunar Touched often seek the truth in one way or another. The truths of their past, the truths of the universe, its rare that two Lunar Touched monks will seek the same goal in the same manner. However, they possess not only the drive, but the tools to uncover these secrets. Binding themselves to an Avatar of the Moon, they use this connection, exposing deceit and uncovering more about the world they walk. Though often viewed as crazed heretics spouting idiotic statements, the Lunar Touched monks seek to reveal truths that some may be too blinded to see.

Your Avatar of the Moon

Every Lunar Touched monk must undergo a rite of passage, binding themselves to an Avatar of the Moon. The ritual details are left at your discretion, as is your own Avatar of the Moon. Your Avatar has its own Gender, Name, Personality, and Mannerisms. But all share the goal of enlightening others to the soothing truth of the Moon. Be sure to keep these in mind when creating your monk if you intend to go down this way.

Language of the Moon

At third level, you gain access to a language only Lunar Touched monks know, Lunar. This language allows you to get access to secrets discovered not only by your order of the Lunar Touched monks, but other orders as well

Lunar is a spoken language, often characterized as sounding like a the twinkling of the stars itself. It can be translated by Comprehend Languages and similar spells

Pale Cascade

Starting at the third level, your Avatar of the Moon allows you access to a portion of her power to be weaponized. You can cast the spell Moonbeam costing Ki Points equivalent to the level it is cast at. At the third level, you can cast it as a second level spell at maximum. This goes up to a third level spell at the fifth level, a fourth level spell at the seventh level, and a fifth level spell at the ninth level. Once using this feature, you cannot do so until you complete a short rest. 

Lunar Eyes

Starting at the sixth level, your Avatar of the Moon lends their eyes to be used as your own. You can now use insight to read someone's body language to detect for deceit. In addition, you use a bonus action and at least one Ki point to gain advantage on all Perception, Insight, and Investigation checks relating to sight for an hour per Ki point spent

Test of the Moon

Starting at the Eleventh Level, your connection to the Moon has grown so much that you can call on its powers directly. By spending at least three ki points, you can use an action to attempt to connect with another being's mind. The target must succeed on a wisdom saving throw equal to 8+Proficiency+WIS+[Ki Points Spent/2(Rounded Up)]. Upon a failure, you establish a one way mind link for one minute. Succeeding on the saving throw does not establish the link, and in either case, the target will be aware of the attempt

This link reveals secrets that the target holds to you, no matter how great or small. Anything the target has been actively hiding from others is revealed to you. However, you cannot take any actions until the link is broken; either through the minute passing or taking a bonus action to break it. Initially, the secrets you will find will be minute: perhaps a simple lie told to save face. However, the longer the connection lasts, the deeper you can probe to find more secrets the target holds

Doing this has no immediate effects on you, but trying to perform this action again before taking a long rest induces a point of exhaustion

 

Lunar Ascension

Starting at the Seventeenth Level, your Avatar of the Moon deems you worthy of sharing her power. You can perform a ritual on a target over the course of an hour. You can link with an individual, blessing them with moonlight. So long as they stay within a range equal to your movement speed x 2, they can use any of the Lunar Touched class features, using your Ki points. You can only establish one link at a time, and you cannot establish another link until you take a long rest. After taking a long rest, the old link will be broken. After the link is broken, the recipient of Lunar Ascension cannot be linked with again for 1d4+1 days.
