Base Class: Wizard
For most wizards, magic is a matter of studying the arcane. They spend years learning and documenting the intricacies of the Weave in order to harness and manipulate its power. To these individuals magic is a form of academia, much the same as literature or history may be for others.
A naturalist breaks away from this mold. While they are as well versed in the scholarly side of magic as most other wizards, they see more than the rote logic and tedious memorization that is characteristic of most schools of magic. To a naturalist, magic is the force that drives the natural world.
A naturalist is just as at home in the forest as the library, and for this reason they are often mistaken for druids. However, for a naturalist, the study of nature is less of a spiritual endeavor and more of an academic pursuit. In addition to the study of scrolls and spell tomes, a naturalist will study the patterns of the wind in the trees or the movements of a flock of birds to gain insight into the arcane. In this way, they gain a much more holistic view of magic than most wizards.
