Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

As a master of the weave of the universe you control the very nature of magic, identifying and avoiding spells on the fly, drawing upon your memory to replicate spells mid-combat and tearing apart the magic of your enemies, no magic is safe near you.

Spell Deconstruction

At 2nd level, you have learned to notice the fine details in the spell-casting of others in order to save yourself from harm. Whenever you use your reaction to identify a spell you always do so with advantage.

Additionally, if you are successful in identifying the spell, you gain +2 on AC and Saving throws until the start of your next turn

Arcane Unravelling

Starting at 2nd level, you are always prepared to unravel the spells of your enemies.

At various levels you gain access to certain spells used for discerning and countering magic, these spells are always prepared and don't count towards your known spell list.

Spell Essence

Starting at 6th level, you can capture the essence of enemy spells in order to utilise them yourself.

Whenever you successfully identify a spell with Spell Deconstruction, or when you dispel magic with a Counterspell or Dispel Magic you can store the essence of it within your mind, as a Spell Essence. Once per turn you can unleash the spell and cast it as your own, using INT as your spell casting modifier.

You can store 2 points of Spell Essence at level 6, increasing as you level up.

Whether you unleash the spell or not you cannot store any more spells past your Spell Essence cap. This cap resets after a long rest and you lose any stored spells.

Arcane Mind

Beginning at 10th level, the Spell Essence you store keeps your mind sharp and deadly. When you have at least one spell stored as Spell Essence you gain a +2 bonus to Spell attack and damage rolls.

Mastery of the Archmage

At 14th level, your Spell Deconstruction feature infuses you with a heightened mental agility. Whenever you successfully use your reaction to deconstruct a spell you may instantly cast the spell, as you mimic the actions taken by the original caster.

This does not count towards your spell essence storage or your spell slots, it cannot be done if you deconstructed the spell with a Counterspell or Dispel Magic.
