Base Class: Fighter
The Warlord focuses on controlling the battlefield. Rather than attacking and dealing additional damage the Warlord issues Commands which allow allies to make strategic moves. Careful use of the action economy and strong communication between allies is critical to the Warlord. Every second counts in the battlefield and the Warlord knows better than most how to get the most out of any opportunities.
Follow My Lead
At 3rd level you already control the flow of battle. After initiative is rolled you can swap Initiative Rolls once with a willing creature.
Command
At 3rd level you’ve developed a keen eye for guiding allies. Each turn when you use the Attack Action, you can use any of your attacks to instead issue a command to a willing target you can see that can hear you. The command can be any from the list below.
Move. The target uses their reaction to move up to their movement speed, this movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Attack. The target uses their reaction to make a single melee weapon attack against an adjacent foe.
Defend. The target uses their reaction to gain the benefits of the Dodge action.
Ready. The target regains their spent reaction immediately.
You can use a number of Commands equal to your Constitution modifier. You regain all uses of this feature at the end of a short or long rest.
Warlord’s Might
At 7th level you’ve learned how to force an enemy right where you want them. When you successfully shove an enemy you also deal 1d6 damage. This damage increases to 2d6 at 15th level.
Master of The Battlefield
At 10th level you’ve learned to never let a foe escape your grasp. When a creature’s movement enters or leaves your reach, even if it is from forced movement or after they have disengaged, you may interrupt their movement and use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity. If the attack hits their movement is reduced to 0.
Improved Commands
At 15th level your Commands have become more inspiring. When a target uses one of your Commands, they also have advantage on their next attack roll or saving throw. This lasts until the end of their next turn.
Battlefield Control
At 18th level you’ve spent years at the forefront of battlefields. You know when a fight is at the critical moment. Once per long rest, when you issue one of your Commands you can issue it to a number of allied creatures you can see equal to your Constitution Modifier. Each one may choose to follow the Command without using their reaction.
