Base Class: Rogue
Thief-takers combine some of the best abilities of wanderers and armsmen. Their main strength lies in their mastery of stealth, but they are also skilled combatants, trained in the use of many weapons. Many start out as thieves themselves, and for whatever reason drift into the more honorable profession of thief-taker.
Some thief-takers take permanent employment with governments or nobles who can afford their services. As such, they are responsible not just for catching thieves, but also for ensuring the security of the places and persons in their charge.

Disable
Starting at 3rd level, you learn strategic, non-lethal places to further damage the target of your Sneak Attack. When you roll for Sneak Attack, add 1d6 when you specify the damage as non-lethal.
Capture
Starting at 3rd level, you know how to more quickly further incapacitate a compromised enemy. You can use an action to tie or manacle a restrained, paralyzed, or prone target. Roll a Sleight of Hand check against the target's Acrobatics check, if they are able to move at all.
Improved Capture
At 13th level, you can now use a Bonus Action to attempt to tie or manacle a target you have grappled.
Negotiate Bounty
Starting at 13th level, you can roll Intimidation checks against your captives and Persuasion checks against employers with advantage.
Sniffer
Starting at 17th level, to your nose, scenes of recent violence are imbued with a foul odor. The power and intensity of the odor give you some sense of the magnitude of the violence, how recently it occurred, or both. Torture and murder leave the strongest odors, assaults and beatings have less powerful scents. Fair fights or attacks by animals according to their nature are weakest of all. Odors fade over time, usually disappearing in a week or so unless the attack was extremely vicious.
You roll with advantage on Perception and Survival checks made tracking Sniffed violence or violent offenders. You cannot be surprised by creatures who have committed violence in the past 48 hours.
