Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids of the Circle of the Crescent Moon work to preserve the balance between humanoids and wild beasts. Using their magic, they borrow the power of the creatures to aid them in their endeavors. These druids are most commonly found working in and around small villages to help educate the people as well as maintain the boundary between society and the wilds.

Partial Wild Shape

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you gain the ability to transform parts of your body as a bonus action using a variant of your Wild Shape magic.

Pick a creature which you can transform into according to the Beast Shapes table of the Wild Shape feature. While partially transformed, you may choose one of the following benefits:

  • You can make attacks on your turn using a creature's natural weapons as your own. You use the same damage die that the creature does for your attacks. Additionally, the statistic used for that natural weapon's attack and damage change for you to match that creature's. You make attacks with the natural weapons as normal and are considered proficient with them. You cannot wield other weapons or cast spells while using this. You do not benefit from other attack actions the creature may have (such as multiattack or pounce).
  • You can add half of the creature's land speed to your own. If a creature has a flying or swimming speed, you gain half of those as additional movement options.
  • You can choose to use the creature's natural armor in place of your armor class. If you do so, you also gain any damage resistances, immunities, or vulnerabilities the creature has.

Other than the changes listed above, your statistics and abilities stay the same while using this feature, and your equipment stays on your person. You are still considered a humanoid while partially transformed. You can maintain the partial transformation for one minute.

If you are partially transformed, you can use a bonus action to use the Wild Shape feature for the creature you chose or to end the effect.

Once you use this feature, you must complete a short or long rest before you can use it again.

Nature's Command

Starting at 3rd level, you can discern if a beast that you can see within 60ft of you is secretly an illusion, polymorph, or Wild Shape. If it is, you can expend one spell slot to try and end the effect, returning the creature to its original state. The creature must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to 12 + level of slot expended. On a failed save, the polymorph or Wild Shape is undone. If the creature is an illusion, it automatically fails and vanishes. If the creature was the target of a True Polymorph spell, it has advantage on this saving throw.

Companion's Glyph

Starting at 6th level, you can make a sacred pact with a beast which is friendly to you. If you spend 10 minutes casting this ritual, you mark yourself and the creature with a magical glyph. While marked by you, the creature will follow commands given to it by you. You may use an action  to issue a command. You can summon the marked creature to an unoccupied space within 5ft of you using your action action so long as the creature is on the same plane of existence as you. Once you summon the beast this way, you must complete a long rest before doing so again. On the same turn that you summon the beast to you in this way, you can issue a command to it as a bonus action.

Additionally, a creature marked by you gains temporary hit points equal to your druid level.  If you finish a long rest near the marked creature, it regains these temporary hit points. If the beast takes damage which places it below 0 HP, the glyph is broken and you take any remaining damage. Undoing the glyph requires the ritual cast on the same creature a second time or a spell  such as Dispel Magic .

You can only have one creature marked at a time. If the glyph is broken or undone, you must finish a long rest before casting the ritual on a new creature.

Chimera Aspect

Starting at 10th level, you can use your Wild Shape to transform into a beast with a challenge rating as high as 3.

Additionally, when using your Partial Wild Shape, you can now choose up to two effects to benefit from (which includes using the same effect twice). For each effect chosen, you can choose a different beast which you can normally transform into using your Wild Shape; however, you cannot choose the same aspect of the same beast twice. The AC granted by two different Natural Armors do not stack. If you use your bonus action to transform from your Partial Wild Shape to a full Wild Shape, you choose from either of the creatures you were using, but still only transform into one full creature.

Greater Beast

At 14th level, you may use your action to magically combine with a nearby beast which is friendly to you. While fused, the beast's total health pool (current HP+THP) is added into your temporary hit point total. You retain your normal land speed, but you may benefit from the full flying or swim speed of the creature. You add the beast's Constitution modifier to your AC.

You can attack with your own weapons as well as natural weapons of the creature, and you may utilize any special attack actions it has. You cannot cast spells while in this form. While in this form, if any of your statistics are lower than that of the beast's, those statistics replace your own. You are considered Large and your type is Monstrosity . You have advantage on Strength skill checks and saving throws.

Once your temporary hit point total drops to 0 (or you choose to gain temporary hit points from a spell or effect), you must treat maintaining this form like maintaining concentration on a spell, reverting to your normal form on a failed save.

This effect lasts for 1 minute. This ability can be cancelled before the minute is complete by using your action to do so. Once finished, you must complete a long rest before you can use this feature again. If your temporary hit point total dropped to 0 before ending the effect, the beast is considered incapacitated.
