Base Class: Monk
The path of enlightenment is marked by four stages; self control, self awareness, self realization, and self reliance. Once all four of these stages are achieved, the monk will begin to work on the total stages. These theoretical stages are total control, total awareness, total realization, and total reliance. These are effectively god traits (omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, and eternal), and no monk is believed to have achieved any of these states.
Self control
You may spend three ki to cast one of the following spells; blade ward (ignore components, lasts until after the next hit you take) or armor of agathys (ignore components, deals no damage, gives your class level in temporary hit points). You must prepare one of these spells when you meditate.
Self aware
You are resistant to psychic damage. Spend one ki point to resist mind control, hypnosis, etc.
Self realization
You have mastered your own emotions so that you cannot be manipulated or read. You may spend one ki to gain advantage while defending against deception, intimidation, or persuasion. You may also spend two ki to gain advantage in an attempt of your own. (once per short rest)
Self realization
Your newfound mastery of your spiritual nature allows you to touch the very souls of mortal creatures. Your unarmed attacks now deal necrotic damage. Additionally, you may now step out of your physical body as an astral projection for a cost of 1 ki per hour. You may meditate (concentration) in a quiet outdoor location and go about as normal as your astral self, fighting, talking, interacting with objects as normal (has all your stats, attributes, etc except the following). Your physical body is completely vulnerable in this state, and unable to perceive its surroundings. Your astral self deals only psychic and necrotic damage, and is damaged normally by any magic attack or weapon. Your astral self is also vulnerable to fire, necrotic, and radiant damage. If your astral self dies before returning to you, you are rendered unconscious, pass a wisdom saving throw or die, lose you ki abilities for two long rests, and lose a level. Return to your physical body by either returning to its location and rejoining it in physical space, or when you have expended all of your ki.
