Where some wizards see the school of Evocation as barbaric, others see a space of limitless potential. The School of Neo-Evocation seeks to understand the harness the infinite pliability of magic. Some seek to use this power to add an artistic flair to their management of the elements, while others see it as the perfect stage to demonstrate their superior talent.

Basics of Neo-Evocation

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, add Fire-bolt to your spell list, if you already know Fire-bolt add another evocation cantrip.

Sculpt Spells

Beginning at 2nd level, you can create pockets of relative safety within the effects of your evocation spells. When you cast an evocation spell that affects other creatures that you can see, you can choose a number of them equal to 1 + the spell’s level. The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take half damage on a successful save.

Power Uninterrupted

Starting at 6th level, you become a master of maintaining the awesome energies at your command. You can maintain concentration on more than once evocation spell at a time.

Style Energy

Beginning at 10th level, you gain the ability to style your spells and give them that personal touch. After you finish a long rest declare one of the following damage types: fire, cold, acid, poison, lighting, or thunder. Whenever your spells deal damage you can change the damage type to the declared type of damage. This occurs after the damage roll but before you determine the outcome.

Choreograph the Arcane

Starting at 14th level. You gain better control over when and how you cast your spells. You can choose an evocation spell that you can cast with the casting time of one action. You cast that spell expending the spell slot it calls for, but the spell doesn't come into effect. Instead, it takes effect when a certain circumstance occurs. You describe that circumstance when you cast the spell. For example, you might want lighting bolt to be cast the next time you are hit with a ranged weapon.

The spell takes effect immediately after the circumstance is met for the first time, whether or not you want it to.

You can use only this effect on one spell at a time.
