Base Class: Barbarian
Those who take the Path of the Swole pursue with fervent devotion a single goal: to be the physically strongest in the world. These astoundingly chiseled hulks will deliberately weigh themselves down with extra equipment, arm-wrestle giants, deadlift tortles - anything to build more muscle.
Bodybuilding Requirement: Barbarians who take this path emphasize raw power. You must be proficient in Athletics to take this subclass. In addition, when you gain the Ability Score Improvement feature, you must either increase your Strength score or take a feat that increases your Strength score until your Strength is 20.
Alluring Muscles
At 3rd level, your muscles are strangely attractive. You may add your Strength modifier instead of your Charisma modifier to Persuasion checks when you are not wearing armor.
Deceptive Muscles
At 3rd level, your massive muscles make another creatures think you're a dumb brute incapable of deceit. You use this trope to your advantage. You may add your Strength modifier instead of your Charisma modifier to Deception checks when you are not wearing armor.
Muscle Armor
Starting at 3rd level, your rock-hard physique becomes highly adapt at deflecting blows. You gain the following benefits.
- When using your Unarmored Defense feature, you may add your Strength modifier to your AC instead of your Constitution modifier.
- When you take bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage while not wearing armor, it is reduced by 1. This damage reduction is applied after any resistance. The damage reduction increases to 2 at 11th level and 3 at 20th level.
Pure Power
By 6th level, you are far stronger than even other barbarians. You gain the following benefits.
- When you make a Strength check or Strength saving throw, roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the result.
- Your carrying capacity increases by 5% per barbarian level.
- Your rage damage increases by 1.
Strength Surge
Beginning at 10th level, you can unleash a tremendous burst of strength, roaring as you do. You can do this in two ways.
- When you make a Strength check or Strength saving throw, you gain a bonus to the roll equal to your barbarian level.
- When you make an attack using Strength, you can add your barbarian level to both the attack and damage roll. In addition, if the attack hits, the target must make a Strength saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. If they fail, they are knocked prone and pushed up to 5 x half your barbarian level feet away from you.
You can use either way after you make the roll, but before the DM says whether it is a success or failure.
Regardless of how you use this ability, your allies find it inspiring and your foes terrifying. When you use this feature, choose any number of creatures you can see within 60 feet that can either see or hear you. They either gain temporary hit points equal to your barbarian level or make a Wisdom saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. If they fail, they are frightened until the end of your next turn.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Brainy Brawn
Starting at 14th level, your muscles are so large that your brain is forced to grow to manage them all, increasing your mental capabilities. Your Intelligence score increases by 2, to a maximum of 20. You have advantage on Intelligence checks and Intelligence saving throws.
