Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

A blend of magic wielder and hired blade, the Echo Assassin uses a narrowed form of Dunamancy to increase his affectiveness in combat. The focus of an Echo Assassin is to deliver swift and deadly attacks before the enemy has a chance to defend themselves. Once the damage is done, the Echo Assassin then vanishes without a trace.

Assassinate

Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in the combat yet. In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.

Manifest Echo

You can use a bonus action to magically manifest an echo of yourself in an unoccupied space you can see within 15 ft. of you. The echo lasts until it is destroyed, you dismiss it as a bonus action, you manifest another echo, or until you’re incapacitated.

Your echo has AC {{14+proficiency#unsigned}}, 1 hit point, and immunity to all conditions. If it has to make a saving throw, it uses your bonus for the roll. It is your size, and occupies its space. If your echo is ever more than 30 ft. from you at the end of your turn, it is destroyed.

You can use the echo in the following ways:

  • As a bonus action, you can teleport, magically swapping places with your echo at a cost of 15 feet of your movement, regardless of the distance between the two of you.
  • When you take the Attack action on your turn, any attack you make with that action can originate from your space or the echo’s space. You make this choice for each attack.
  • When a creature that you can see within 5 feet of your echo moves at least 5 feet away from it, you can use your reaction to make an opportunity attack against that creature as if you were in the echo’s space.

Echo Sneak Attack

You have learned to further solidify your echo in the material world.

At 9th level, your Echo's Attack can now trigger an additional sneak attack roll once per long rest if all requirements are met for it to do so.

Furthermore, you and your echo can serve as another enemy within 5 feet of the target for satisfying sneak attack requirements.

Endless Echoes

At 15th level, your Echo has become your equal, matching you blow for blow in combat. Once per long rest, instead of gaining one additional attack from your Echo Strike ability, you gain an Echo Strike each time you make an attack.

Death Strike

Starting at 17th level, you become a master of instant death. When you attack and hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature. Echo Strike does not trigger a Death Strike.
