Base Class: Monk
Few who use a blade trust it's edge more than the followers of the Living Blade. Learning techniques to incapacitate, maim, or slaughter enemies, followers use ki to center themselves in order to find the perfect moment to slash. Each follower has an almost spiritual connection with their blade often naming it.
Blade Preference
Upon choosing the Way of the Living Blade, you gain proficiency in one sword weapon of your choice. This will be considered a monk weapon for you as well.
Iai Quickdraw
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can center your ki to prepare for a strike with any sword you have proficiency in. By spending one ki point you ready this attack. While the attack does not start until your next turn, if you have not already you can still take a movement. Attacks on you in this waiting period are rolled normally, however you have disadvantage on dexterity saving throws. When your turn does come back around you unleash the attack you readied.
From your side you draw your blade with blinding speed. Roll this attack as normal to hit, but on hit this attack will do critical damage. Also the target of this attack must make a constitution saving throw or have disadvantage on its next attack.
Parrying Blade
At 6th level, you gain the ability to protect yourself from attacks. As a reaction, you can spend one ki point to parry an melee attack made by a creature of similar or smaller size than you. This parry takes away 2d12 damage from the attack.
Tranquility
Beginning at 11th level, you can enter a special meditation that surrounds you with an aura of peace. At the end of a long rest, you gain the effect of a sanctuary spell that lasts until the start of your next long rest (the spell can end early as normal). The saving throw DC for the spell equals 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Blade of Descimation
At 17th level, you gain the ability to channel the force of an army into one strike. When you make an attack on a creature you can spend up to all of your remaining ki points to channel your energy into your blade. On a successful hit with this charged up blade, you can add one d12 radiant or necrotic damage (your choice) for each ki point you spent on the attack. However due to the force of the strike itself you are unable to regain these ki points for two days. Also the blade that was used to deliver the attack is turned into ash.
