Xalgon is a mysterious force of dark energy. Nobody is quite sure what it is, but many fear it. Xalgon takes on a host in order to be able to manifest. This host gets injected with four of Xalgons souls. Once the host dies, Xalgon takes the souls they injected as well as the host’s original soul. Then, Xalgon moves to the next host. Each soul only lives for about 1,000 years. It it unknown why they need souls, though people have theorized it to be a way of attaching to the host’s brain and body.

Five Souls

The host has had four souls injected into them. Soul (including the original) must get an extra skill to have when said soul is in control. This takes the place of one of the background skills. The DM gets to chose which soul is active at which time. The original soul is the most commonly active.

Expanded Spell list

Xalgon lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

All five souls share something in common. That something is a skill. Add an extra skill.

Soul Search

Whenever they want the character’s soul to change, the player can role a constitution to change. If this fails, the dm chooses which soul they change to. If this succeeds, the player gets to choose. Keep in mind the dm can still spontaneously change the soul to whatever they wish.

True Self

Player can roll a wisdom to change their appearance to be of one of their other souls. This effect is temporary, it’s length depending on the level.
