Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Originally an order of zealous monks, the Twilight Hunters have adapted their ways over time. Due to their skills in manipulating shadows to obscure themselves and perform efficient espionage and other activities, they are often hired as mercenaries by powerful groups with an axe to grind.

Twilight Shroud

If you are in an area that is in dim light or darkness, you can use your Cunning Action to gain Twilight Shroud. It remains active until dispelled as an action, remaining in a well-lit area for more than 5 seconds, or until you attack a creature. The passive effects of your shroud, and effects gained on an attack, improve as you gain levels in this class.

At 3rd level, while Twilight Shroud is active, you have advantage on Stealth checks made to hide. If you attack an enemy, you consume your shroud and gain one of the following effects:

  • Eviscerate: Your attack deals bonus damage equal to your Wisdom modifier. If this is a sneak attack, the bonus is doubled.

  • Burst: Your walking speed is increased by 15 feet this turn. If this is a sneak attack, you gain the benefits of the Disengage action.

Scout's Shroud

At 9th level, while your Twilight Shroud is active, you have advantage on Perception checks, and your walking speed is increased by 10 feet. You can now choose from these options when consuming your shroud for an attack:

  • Shadow Pin: The creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be treated as grappled until the start of your next turn. If this is a sneak attack, they are treated as restrained instead. The DC for this saving throw is 12 + proficiency.
  • Reach: You can make an additional attack on a different target. If this is a sneak attack, you can attack 2 other (separate) targets instead.

Protective Shroud

At 13th level, while your Twilight Shroud is active, your AC is treated as if it were 2 higher, and you have advantage on saving throws from magical sources. You gain the following options for attacks that use your shroud:

  • Consume Shroud: You gain temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier. If this is a sneak attack, you can choose to restore that amount of hit points to yourself instead.
  • Blink: After this attack, you can teleport into an unoccupied space within 10 feet of your target. If this is a sneak attack AND your new space is in dim light or darkness, you can refresh your Twilight Shroud.

Killer Shroud

At 17th level, while in your Twilight Shroud, you can use an action to further empower your next strike, allowing you to add an additional shroud effect to it. You gain the following options for your attacks using your shroud:

  • Unseen: You become invisible until you make an attack, cast a spell, or dispel this effect. You cannot gain your Twilight Shroud while you are invisible in this manner. If this is a sneak attack, you gain bonus damage equal to your Wisdom modifier on your next attack.
  • Overwhelm: Your target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the start of your next turn. If this is a sneak attack, you can extend this effect to up to 3 other creatures within 20 feet of your target. The DC for this saving throw is 11 + WIS.
