Though darkness has long proven an indispensable ally to those in your line of work, they are mere adopters and dabblers in what is your natural element. For you, the exploitation of light's absence has always been your modus operandi; your uncontested specialty. Whether by some strange supernatural quirk, hereditary power, or the boon of fickle gods and entities from beyond, you've gained a special affinity for the shadows, their dark embrace tracing your every step, sheltering you from inquiry and detection.

Lurker in the Dark

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn how best to exploit the cover of darkness to conceal your movements. While in dim light or darkness, you have advantage on Stealth checks.

Shadowsight

Starting at 3rd level, your eyes gain the uncanny ability to pierce any manner of darkness. You gain darkvision out to a range of 30 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet. You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, out to your darkvision range.

Fade to Black

At 9th level, you gain the ability to vanish into shadows, appearing to fade out as you step between distant locations. As an action or bonus action while in dim light or darkness, you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You can take the Hide action before or after you teleport in this way.

Darkness Falls

At level 13, your mastery grows further still, allowing you to bring your element to bear and snuff out the hated light. You can cast Darkness or Shadow of Moil as an action or bonus action without components. This spell's level is equal to half your rogue level, and it dispels any magical light in its area of effect created by spells of a lower level. After you cast a spell with this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

One With Darkness

At level 17, you and the shadows become as one. Your command over them is unparalleled and the darkness is now all but an extension of your body and senses revealing the presence of your enemies and whispering their intent. Your darkvision range increases by 30 feet. You have blindsight against creatures in dim light or darkness out to its range.
