Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

The Dragoons are a powerful order of warriors who wield polearms and challenge the powerful beasts of the sky. They wear special armor meant to invoke the imagery of dragons, including helmets shaped like a dragon's head, spikes, and wing and scale designs.

Dragoons are masters of polearms and spears, trained from an early age to fight with polearms to devastating effect. They perform amazing leaps into the air, delivering devastating blows with their weapons as they land.

Resilient Warrior

Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Spears, Lances, and Medium Armor. Additionally, you gain the ability to negate fall damage using your sneak attack dice. For every die used, you remove 10 feet of fall damage. Alternatively, you can add 10 feet per die used to a high jump you make.

Dragoon's Descent

Starting at 3rd level, when you use Resilient Warrior, you may transfer the damage negated to an enemy that you fall on. Make an attack roll as normal, and if it hits, the extra damage is dealt as your choice of bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing. Enemies hit by this attack cannot make opportunity attacks against you for this round.

Dragon-Fang Spear

Starting at 9th level, you gain the ability to add elemental damage types (Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Poison) to your Dragoon’s Descent attacks. Your Dragoon’s Descent attacks remain this damage type until your next long rest (though you can choose to forgo the spear and deal bludgeoning damage instead) and you can change this damage type during a short or long rest.

Draconic Specialty

Starting at 13th level, you become more in tune with the spirit of the Dragoon, gaining one of the following options:

Dragon Heart

Choose a dragon color. You gain the corresponding breath weapon and resistance as if you were a dragonborn. In addition, you gain the ability to add your Constitution modifier to your AC if you are unarmored.

Dragon Mind

You gain the companionship of a dragon 1/3rd your CR (rounded down) or lower, with the following changes:

  • If the dragon is Medium, it counts as Large for the purposes of being used as a mount. If it is any other size, it remains unchanged.
  • If you change dragons at any time, the damage types of the breath weapons, resistances, and color stay the same, though any relevant numbers will change accordingly.
  • The dragon has its own movement action and speed, but uses your action economy and initiative otherwise.

Meteor Strike

Starting at 17th level, when you use your Dragoon’s Descent, all creatures within reach of your weapon that would be hit by your initial attack roll also take the damage dealt to the original target.
