Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Oath of Steve paladins are paladins who subscribe to the views and ideals of The True God, Lord Steve. Paladins who follow Steve tend to be hasty in their actions, often finding the quickest and most obvious solution to a problem, and if they cannot do that, breaking down the door in their way. They tend to be lazy, but with a motivation for adventuring for the sole purpose of purging heretics who dare to disgrace Lord Steve. On top of their laziness, they are also hoarders to an extent, and try at every opportunity to get things for free or at a discounted price, and rarely parting with old treasure they didn't already intend to sell. Paladins who take this Oath must first party for 7 continuous days with Lord Steve, and, should they be declared the life of the party, Steve will grant them their power and come to their aid at times. These paladins hold laziness, greed, immortality, and partying as ideals.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Steve's Cool Stick. As a bonus action on your turn, you imbue your weapon with Steve's magic. For 1 minute, the weapon you are currently holding becomes magical, and deals extra necrotic damage equal to 1d8 per number of your Charisma modifier (minimum of one). For example, if you had a Charisma modifier of +3, it would deal an extra 3d8 necrotic damage, and so on.

If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.

Undead Fury. For the next 10 minutes, your appearance becomes zombie-like and degraded. Your body undergoes a process of accelerated decomposition, and you become undead. While you are in this state, you have immunity to necrotic damage, and resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. You do not need to breathe, eat, drink, or sleep while in this state. Undead creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls made against you, and you may use your action to attempt to frighten a creature on your turn. The creature must make a Charisma save, or be frightened by you for the remainder of the duration. The DC for this save is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Steve Spells

Free Cantrips

Starting at 7th level, you learn the fire bolt cantrip, and you can choose 2 other cantrips from the sorcerer spell list to learn as well. In addition, you may choose one 1st-level spell you know. You can now cast that spell at will, unless you choose to cast it with a higher level spell slot, in which case it exepnds that spell slot.

Improved Mortality

Beginning at 15th level, your body becomes slightly corpse-like, and you no longer need to sleep, eat, drink, or breathe, but your body does age.

Undeath

At 20th level, you become truly undead. Your body is reduced either to a skeletal husk that your soul controls, a zombie-like being, or a ghost that takes on the shape of your old body, but with a faint transparency and dim blue glow. You may choose the undead appearance your body has. You can no longer die of age, and don't need to breathe, eat, drink, or sleep.

If you drop to 0 Hit Points, you do not need to make any death saves. Your body automatically regenerates after 1d4 days in any location within 1 mile of where you died. You may choose the location. The location must be on the material plane, and if you died outside of the material plane, you regenerate in the Church of Steve nearest to (or in) the town you lived in before you died. During the 1d4 day period of your body regenerating, you may spend that time with Lord Steve, and converse with him about whatever you wish., however, he is not obligated to provide you with truthful answers to any questions, and cannot be made by any means to do so.
