Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians following the path of the hussar share a primal bond with their mounts and fight in unison with them. They typically grow in wild areas, secluded from densely populated towns, and learn from a very young age how to use their charisma to impose their will on wild animals and beasts of all sizes.

Walking Among Beasts

Yours is a path that seeks companionships with beasts. At 3rd level when you adopt this path, you gain expertise in Animal Handling and Survival and you can add your charisma modifier to any of these two rolls.

Hussar Training

You gain the Mounted Combatant feat. Mounting and dismounting from an animal counts as a free action for you.

Tamer's Bond

At 6th level, upon defeating it in a one versus one combat, you are able to form a magical bond with a wild beast. After forming the bond, the beast finds shelter in one of the ethereal planes. The bond allows you to call upon it a number of times day equal to your charisma modifier (minimum of 1) by spending an action. You are able to fully communicate telepathically (have conversations) with any beast summoned this way as long as it has an intelligence score higher than 4. When riding your mount your initiative modifier is equal to the lowest between yours and the beast's initiative modifier. Your movement speed is equal to the mount movement speed.

Each summoning lasts up to 4 hours and if the barbarian falls unconscious the beast disappears. The barbarian can willingly unsummon the beasts as a bonus action. Every beast has its own stats, independent from the barbarian. The barbarian and the mount move on the same initiative and share their turn (one action and one bonus action between the two of them). If an attack directed to the barbarian misses, if it would hit the beast it does and vice-versa.

No restriction to the CR applies if the barbarian defeated the beast in a fair one vs one duel without external help (including enchanted weapons).

The number of beasts you can contract with scales with your level (one at level 6, two at level 12, and three at level 18).

A bond formed this way can only be broken if the beast dies (a.k.a. reaches 0 hit points), if the barbarian dies, or if the barbarian decides to break it. Should the barbarian voluntarily break the bond, the beast nature would change, turning it into a monstrosity or an aberration seeking for vengeance against the barbarian.

Tracker

At 10th level, your ability in tracking down beasts and Animal handling is unparalleled. Whenever you roll a survival or animal handling check if your result is lower than 10 you can choose for it to be 10 instead.

One with the Beast

At 14th level, your bond with the tamed beasts grows stronger enhancing both your and the beast's abilities.

When you are mounted you and the beast now count as a single unit with your hit points and AC equal to the beast AC plus your charisma modifier. Your initiative modifier is equal to the lowest between yours and the beast's initiative modifier. Your movement speed is equal to the mount movement speed.
You also gain temporary hit points equal to 5 times the beast CR plus 3 times your level in barbarian. Temporary hit points do not stack and are not refreshed if the beast is re-summoned or if the barbarian mounts another beast he has a bond with within the same combat.

As long as you are mounted the following applies:
Whenever you perform an attack action with the barbarian you can spend your bonus action to have your beast perform an attack and vice-versa.
Whenever you rage, the bonuses from rage apply to your beast too.
Whatever racial or class feature the barbarian may have the beast has too and vice-versa.
Whatever damages resistance or vulnerability the beast might have, the barbarian has too and vice-versa.
Whenever you take an attack of opportunity both the barbarian and the beast strike once.
Any feat the barbarian might have applies to the beast if applicable.

The barbarian and the mount count as a single target for any attack, spell, or any other effects that might target a single creature. Should the hit points of the pair follow to 0, the barbarian falls unconscious while the beast dies. Features such as orc resilience apply to both.
