Base Class: Ranger
"I've got you now Enron, you stuck up bastard, you'll never see this coming..."
The ambuscadier has mastered the art of studying their target and ensuring that the ensuing battle against them will be lop-sided to the benefit of this wily hunter.
The ambuscadier has mastered the use of the hunters mark, it now becoming stronger and more reliable. Those who possess knowledge of it's use refer to it as the hunter's brand. More sturdy, more reliable, more powerful.
Hunter's Brand
The necessity of being able to track your prey effectively in order to set up ambushes has led to you developing your hunter's mark into a different creation entirely, making it more reliable and powerful than it was before.
At level 3, you gain the ability to brand a target with a mystical sigil. As a bonus action, you can brand any creature. For the next 24 hours, you have the ability to deal a bonus 1d8 force damage to the branded target, on a successful weapon attack, as well as gain advantage on perception of survival checks made to track them. You can currently only have one brand active at a time, but can change targets using a bonus action if a target with the brand dies.
Ambuscadier Spells
When you reach certain levels in this subclass, you gain a spell unique to this subclass of the Ranger class. Each spell is always prepared, and doesn't count towards the spells you can learn or prepare.
Level 3: Entangle
Level 5: Invisibility
Level 9: Non-Detection
Level 13: Locate Creature
Level 17: Scrying
Stealth Training
When you choose this subclass at level 3, you gain proficiency in stealth checks.
Piercing Brand
When you gain this class feature at level 7, choose a damage type from the list below. Your hunter's brand will deal an extra 1d8 of that damage when it triggers upon landing an attack upon a branded target.
Acid
extra 1d8 acid damage on hunter's brand
Cold
extra 1d8 cold damage on hunter's brand
Fire
1d8 extra fire damage on hunter's brand
Poison
Extra 1d8 poison damage on hunter's brand
Contagious Brand
Once you reach level 11, you will gain the ability to brand more than one mark at a time with your hunter's brand. You will be able to apply your brand to targets equal to your wisdom modifier.
Also, you will be able to, as a reaction, trigger your hunter's brand damage when a branded creature is hit by any weapon or spell attack, not just your own.
Ambuscadier's Pounce
At level 15, you gain the ability to teleport between targets branded by your hunter's brand, as long as you are within 40ft of that target. You also gain two extra brands, but these can only be placed onto objects instead of creatures.
This class feature can be used as a bonus action, and may be used a number of times equal to your wisdom modifier per long rest.
