Base Class: Wizard
Gravity Mages harness the forces of gravity to defend themselves.
Transmutation Savant
From 2nd level onwards, since manipulating gravity is an act of Transmutative magic, you are skilled in other kinds of Transmutation, meaning the gold and time it takes to copy a Transmutation spell into your spellbook is halved.
Gravitic Reversal
From 2nd level onwards, When a creature targeting you rolls a 1 on it's attack roll, you can take a reaction to have them roll damage, but they take the damage instead of you. This affects all attack rolls made against you.
Gravitic Aura
Starting at 6th level, attacks gravitate away from you, increasing your AC by half your Intelligence modifier, rounded up.
Improved Reversal
At 10th level, you can activate Gravitic Reversal if the creature targeting you rolls a 1 or a 2.
Gravitic Projectiles
At 14th level, you become proficient with ranged weapons. You can use Intelligence instead of Dexterity for attack and damage rolls with that weapon.

Posted May 4, 2020I think the gravity mage should have an ability were it lifts opponents in a certain area up and smacks them down, dealing more damage the heavier the target is.

Posted Aug 19, 2018Also I would add this 2nd level ability to really play on the gravity theme:
Limited Gravity
At 2th level, you add Feather Fall to your spellbook if it is not already one of your known spells. The Feather Fall spell is always prepared for you.

Posted Aug 19, 2018The 14th level ability is pretty lackluster. At that level though, you have access to 7th level spells. So suggestion:
Control Gravity
At 14th level, you add Reverse Gravity to your spellbook if it is not already one of your known spells. When casting Reverse Gravity, you may choose to to exclude any number of creatures and/or objects from the effects of the spell. For the duration, you may as a bonus action have Reverse Gravity apply to a character or object currently excluded from the effect or to exclude a character or object currently under the effect.
This would be a fun ability to have at 14th level, totally fits the theme, and is appropriately powerful.
