Base Class: Barbarian
Some barbarians express themselves as angry warriors who tap into the source of their anger from time to time, some are righteous warriors who use that anger to do their gods or their ancestors will. Others tap into the very core of that anger, fueling their rage to unimaginable heights. This is the way of the War Hulk. Brute force over measured thought, tapping into that proverbial wall of sheer strength within the body, and shattering it with the overwhelming might of their anger... even if doing so could kill them.
Primal Combative
Starting at 3rd level, your rage allows you to forego conventional weapons. You become proficient with improvised weapons, and your unarmed and improvised weapon damage increases to 1d6 plus your strength modifier. Additionally, whenever you make an unarmed attack or an attack with an improvised weapon as part of an attack action, you may make an additional attack as a bonus action.
Once you've gained 6 levels in this class, your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming Resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. This benefit does not extend to improvised weapons.
Unrestrained Rage
At 6th level, whenever you take damage from an attack, you may rage as a reaction, instead of the usual bonus action. If you take damage and are already raging, you may instead choose to expend an additional rage, as a reaction (if available), to deepen your rage - granting you a temporary +2 to your strength cap and your strength score. You also gain temporary hit points equal to your barbarian level. You may continue to deepen your rage in this way as long as you have rages (and a reaction) to expend. (Up to a maximum of 5 unrestrained rage effects.) The unrestrained rage bonus strength benefits are cumulative, to a maximum strength of 30.
When your rage ends, you must make a constitution save (DC = 10 + 5 for each additional rage after the initial unrestrained rage, or immediately gain an exhaustion level for each unrestrained rage.)
Thunderous Clap
Starting at 10th level, as an action on your turn, you can clap your hands together in order to create a powerful shock wave of concussive force - emulating the thunderwave spell (DC = 8 + proficiency + your strength modifier). If you are currently under the effect of the rage class feature, thunderous clap increases the effective spell level (slot) of thunderwave by each level of rage, including any additional rages from unrestrained rage. (If under the effects of rage, and two additional rages from unrestrained rage, thunderwave would effectively be cast as if it were a 4th level spell slot.)
Hulking Physique
Starting at 14th level, you gain the ability to channel the essence of your rage into your physical form. Whenever you start a rage on your turn, (or utilize your reaction to deepen your rage via Unrestrained Rage) you can increase your size by one category - from Medium to Large, for example, to a maximum size of Gargantuan. This increase lasts for the duration of the rage. It ends early if you die or are incapacitated. Until it ends, you enjoy the following benefits:
- Your current hit points and your hit point maximum both increase by 1 per barbarian level.
- Your reach increases by 5 feet.
- Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.
- You benefit from the effects of the *jump* spell.
Rule Interaction: The effects of Hulking Physique are cumulative with each additional rage, excepting for the effects of the *jump* spell, which may only have one active effect at a time. The increase in size may also stack with the *enlarge/reduce*, or similar, spells (to the aforementioned size limitation), but this alternative size increase offers no additional benefits outside of the effects of that, or similar, spells.
