Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Few dragonborn barbarians choose the Path of the Totem Warrior. After all, why would they need to gain power from a bear, wolf, or eagle. They are already DRAGONS!

Instead, a dragonborn may choose to turn inward, delving into their own draconic heritage and channeling its power. As a dragonborn travels down this path, they may choose to visually enhance their draconic nature. For example, their snouts might elongate or their scales might thicken. Similarly, when raging, the power of their draconic ancestor may shine through, causing their scales to glow faintly.

Draconic Wrath

While raging, you may make a bite attack as a bonus action. This attack deals 1d6 + your strength modifier.

When your rage ends, make a wisdom saving throw, DC 10 + the number of creatures you bit.

  • On a success, mark off a ferocity counter. After five successful saves, you no longer need to make this check.
  • On a failure, you come out of your rage and realize you can still taste your enemy. You are horrified for the remainder of the round and cannot take any further actions. (You may still use your movement).

Aspect of the Dragon

You have learned how to carry yourself with the power of a true dragon. All but the oldest dragons will recognize you as a peer, giving you advantage on diplomacy checks made with dragons.

Those of less exulted origins also recognize the strength that runs in your veins. Unless they are immune to fear effects, you gain advantage on intimidation checks against non-draconic creatures.

Ancestral Guidance

After meditating for 10 minutes, you are visited by the spirit of your draconic ancestor. You may ask this dragon three questions and they will generally answer to the best of their ability. The DM will decide what is reasonable for them to know or may make roles with your draconic ancestor's mental stats. Be warned, however, ancient dragons or dragon spirits are not to be trifled with. If you are disrespectful, your ancestor may choose to ignore your request (but will never lie).

Note: because dragons live for so long, it is entirely possible that this dragon is still alive. If this is the case, they may still visit you, but may also choose to decline if they are otherwise occupied.

Dragon's Soul

You have have found your dragon's soul and thus are able to call upon your elemental gifts more easily than dragonborn who have not undergone this spiritual journey. You may now use your breath weapon as a bonus action.

Additionally, just like your dragon ancestors, you may role a d6 each round at the beginning of your turn. On a 5 or a 6, your breath weapon recharges.
