Bard
Base Class: Bard

The sound of music can be a calming thing to the ears of those
who understand it. It can take the edge off of those heavy
emotions that threaten to turn mortal minds mad. But Bards of
the Blazing strings needs it for another reason. They were born
with great sorcerous power but lacked the ability to control it,
presenting a clear and constant threat to those around them.
But with the power of music, they can focus their energies
into their songs and ballads and create a wonderful display of
their power that can inspire and audience with a brilliant show
of arcane lights. Or burn down the performance hall as they
focus the truly terrifying power within them through the sound
of their instrument.

Ballad of the Phoenix

When you join the college of Blazing strings at 3rd level, you gain the ability to turn any string instrument you play into a powerful weapon. As an action, choose enemies or allies. You can spend one of your bardic inspiration die to play a song that gifts them with the blessing of fire or its burning bite. A number of the chosen creatures who can hear you within 60 feet up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one) are affected by this. Until the start of your next turn, allies you affect can add your bardic inspiration die as to the first damage roll they make as additional fire damage. Enemies must make a charisma saving throw or take 1d6 + your charisma modifier in fire damage or half as much on a successful save. This damage dice increases to 2d6 at 5th level, then to 3d6 at 11th, then 4d6 at 17th level

Branding Performance

If you perform with a string instrument for at least 1 minute, choose a number of humanoids within 60 feet of you who watched and listened to all of it, up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one) Each target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or become filled with an intense feeling or emotion you choose to inspire in them such as happiness, lust, fear, paranoia or something more complex which you can describe. These feelings last for a day. Creatures who make the save have no idea you tried to manipulate them. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Ballad of the Inferno

Starting at 6th level, anytime you perform your ballad of the Phoenix, you gain the benefits of the fire shield spell until the start of your next turn. Additionally, you learn two spells of your choice from any class that deal fire damage. A spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip. The chosen spells count as bard spells for you but don't count against the number of bard spells you know.

Burn It Down

Starting at 14th level, you can simply abandon any attempt at self-control and let the world burn around you. When you use your ballad of the Phoenix and choose enemies, you can choose to target each creature, friend or foe, within 30 feet of creature within range and use that for your damage roll. If you do this, you take half the damage you dealt with this feature as psychic damage
