Bard
Base Class: Bard

Slam Poet's aren't the traditionally schooled performers one might find gracing the taverns and theatre in more civilised society. Instead, this special breed of performer grew their roots in the squalid underbelly of big city street circuits where reputation and credibility are paramount. These bards tend to make a living in 1v1 performances intended to undermine and discredit their opponents in any way they can, for the ultimate prize of pride.

Flyting

You are well versed in shutting people down, whether you make them pale in comparison to your ability to hold the crowd's attention, or simply making them feel inadequate compared to you. You can expend one of you Bardic Inspiration die to gain advantage on any Performance or Intimidation check. You can choose to use this feature after the you make the roll, but before the DM determines whether the ability check succeeds or fails. If the check is successful, you regain the use of this die.

Creative Angle

Slam Poets, being veterans of musical circuits or prominent players in academic and high society circles, are get exposure to a lot of different people. As such, they are renown for their ability to rile up their opponents and get under their skin by making use of this passive knowledge about them. Because of your worldly experience you can use this to your advantage when interacting with people, gaining a bonus on all Charisma skill checks equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +0)

Aggressive Flyting

Starting at 6th level, your Flyting ability becomes so potent to the extent that it starts to take a physical effect on the target of the assault.
As a bonus action, you can make an Intimidation or Performance check against a creature you can see within 30 feet that isn’t deafened or blinded, contested by the target’s Insight check.

If you succeed, you the target is subject to the following effects depending on the check you made:
Performance - The target has disadvantage on saving throws until the end of your next turn
Intimidation -  You can roll your bardic Inspiration die; the target takes psychic damage equal to the number rolled

This ability also benefits from your existing Flyting feature

Stage Dominance

At 14th level, you have become a master of holding the stage, and your exhibition style enthrals the masses.

Once per long rest, as an action, you can start a performance to boost your allies or hinder your enemies. You can use your action on subsequent turns to maintain this performance, for up to 1 minute; maintaining the performance in this way requires your concentration (as if concentrating on a spell). While maintained, all creatures of your choice within 30 feet that can hear and see you, are subject to an effect of your choice which you make at the start of the performance, and continues until the performance ends. The Performance ends early if you are incapacitated or silenced, you lose concentration, or if you voluntarily end it (no action required).

You can choose from the following effects:

  • All creatures of your choice must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or have their speed reduced by half
  • All creatures of your choice must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or have be considered charmed by you
  • All creatures of your choice must make an Intelligence saving throw against your spell save DC or have disadvantage on attack rolls against all creatures except you
  • All creatures of your choice must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or suffer psychic damage equal to your proficiency bonus at the start of it's turn
  • A number of creatures equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) regain HP equal to your class level + your Charisma modifier at the start of their tun, if they start their turn with less than half their hit point maximum

If a hostile creature saves against this performance they are immune to its effects for the next 24 hours.
